About this listen

The best-selling book on heart disease, updated with the latest research and clinical findings on high-fat/ketogenic diets, sugar, genetics, and other factors.

Heart disease is the number-one killer. However, traditional heart disease protocols - with their emphasis on lowering cholesterol - have it all wrong. Emerging science is showing that cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart disease and that standard prescriptions for lowering it, such as ineffective low-fat/high-carb diets and serious, side-effect-causing statin drugs, obscure the real causes of heart disease. Even doctors at leading institutions have been misled for years based on creative reporting of research results from pharmaceutical companies intent on supporting the $31-billion-a-year cholesterol-lowering drug industry.

The Great Cholesterol Myth reveals the real culprits of heart disease, including inflammation, fibrinogen, triglycerides, homocysteine, belly fat, triglyceride to HDL ratios, and high glycemic levels.

very informative

Well read and packed with useful information for anyone interested in maintaining good health. I am not surpised at how little most MDs know as the are educated and owned by Big Pharma and Big Food.

Be your own health advocate and find an integrative doctor who is up to speed abd an independent critical thinker.

As a Cardiac ICU RN, this makes sense.

As a Cardiac ICU RN, I really appreciated this book. Almost all of my patients who come in for heart attacks have normal cholesterol but are either diabetic or prediabetic. I will be educating my patients and coworkers on the recommendations from this book to hopefully create some level of awareness in the conventional medical field.

Simple Eye Opening

Very informative, doesn't over-explain, and gives clear advice on what to do and what not to do; all in an evidenced-based package. Highly recommended to anyone, healthcare professional or not, to improve their heart health.

Fantastic Original & New Content, Wonderful Wpdate

Read the original years ago. Loved it / lived by it. Really enjoyed the updated version. I let everyone I know they should “read” this wonderful book!! Now I need to find out how to find a local Dr like these Dr’s. Most still believe in the old BS Cholesterol tests. Ugh.

Information not found elsewhere

I liked the important info was repeated throughout the book. Dislike: a bit too deep at times for me to follow.
