What a conclusion to the trilogy!
What an adventure this one is! I started this and couldn't stop listening. First, I needed to find out what a Fox was in history! Linda Weaver Clarke masterfully weaves together the story of Caroline and Jessie. Caroline is set to marry the man who will be the new mayor in Laketown. When she overhears a compromising situation, her safety comes into question, and her father gets her protection. Who better to take care of her than the Fox of Cordovia? I loved the listening to this story. It's written with a lot of imagery, humor and just all around fun. From the fantastic costuming to the pirate ship, we enjoy a story of deceit and love. Like the other two in the series, Caroline is strong, female lead and shows how even though women are supposed to be quiet during this time in history, she is quite capable and full of spunk. Jessie is the perfect compliment to her, and is just so easy to fall for. Their adventure together and what they find on their way will knock your socks off. It's a great ending to this trilogy!
Carolyn Kashner concludes her narration with her many voices and great emotions. She has a way of giving the story lots of energy and that feeling of adventure. I think she gives wonderful performance.

A Lovely Ending to a Sweet Series
The Fox of Cordovia is the third and final book of the Rebel series. The tension from determining how Cordovia will be governed and who will be in control since the upheaval in the first book, is still present in this book.
I think what I love the most about this author's writing is that she has either included or based her stories off of a REAL historical figure or event without the dryness of a history lesson. I enjoy the author's incorporation of many important values and morals demonstrated in various character's actions throughout this book as well as her other books. I think that these books are based on factual persons or events adds to the inspiration one can gain from listening to these books. Every book in the series left me feeling encouraged and uplifted, which I appreciate immensely.
Although Jesse and Caroline's romance was somewhat anticipated, I can't help but love their story anyways. I am a hopeless romantic and I love a happily ever after. The author does a great job, as usual, developing these charming characters. The series is also wrapped up nicely in this final installment of the Rebel series.
This narrator did a great job in all three books of this series. I think she was a perfect fit for the series and did a fabulous job bringing all of the characters to life.
I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Clean Historical Romance
This is the third book in the Cordovia series, set a few years after the rebels overthrow the king. The citizens of Cordovia are working to set up a system of government. In the city of Laketown, a mayoral race is on. Caroline, an educated nurse who worked with the rebellion, is engaged to one of the candidates. When she overhears her fiance plotting to tamper with the election, she calls on the Fox, the hero of Laketown, for help.
This was a sweet clean read with plenty of intrigue and excitement to keep things interesting. It can be read as a standalone but is best enjoyed after reading books one and two. I really liked both Caroline and Jesse. Caroline is a strong feisty woman and not afraid to defend herself. I loved their various disguises and how much fun they had together!
The narration was great, the narrator performed accents and voices and immersed me in the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic Mystery
The Fox of Cordovia is Book 3 in The Rebel Series by Linda Weaver Clarke. I felt that this book was an exciting finish to a wonderful trilogy. The people are two years after the overthrow of the King. Jonathan is moving the people to vote on a Mayor to lead them. Caroline over heard her fiance and his supporters planning a smear campaign. Caroline must find away to stop them while protecting her family. I believe that this swashbuckling adventure is terrific! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Adventure!
The Fox of Cordovia is book 3 of the Rebel Series by Linda Weaver Clarke, narrated by Carolyn Kashner. Each book contains its own interesting plot and so could serve as a stand-alone book, as well. As with the other books, it is also a historical fiction of a clean and enjoyable nature. There is nothing to worry about if a younger reader would want to read the book.
It contains adventure, romance, and pirates! If this is the type of book that intriques you, you will love it.
Carolyn Kashner is a talented narrater with a very expressive style that is fun and easy to listen to making the Audible version very enjoyable.
I think you will enjoy reading this one!

Enjoyable Quest Story!
The Fox of Cordovia is a very enjoyable quest story by Linda Weaver Clarke that continues the adventures that started in The Rebels of Cordovia, an entertaining Robin Hood-type saga. In the first book, we met the daughter of a local baker, Robin, who secretly taught a small group of vigilantes to fight for basic freedoms against a tyrant king who taxed his subjects into extreme poverty. While no historical era is provided, I would say it is loosely based in the 17th Century. The Fox of Cordovia is the third book in this series and the lead characters are just as engaging as in the prior two books.
Caroline is the daughter of a doctor, a compassionate nurse, and the future wife of an aspiring politician. Her world comes crashing down when she overhears her fiancé plotting to overthrow the current government. She immediately flees and goes into hiding when her fiancé puts a price on her head. Thankfully Caroline’s father didn’t trust her fiancé and hired the former Fox of Cordovia to watch over her. As the Fox, Jesse led a small group of vigilantes that fought for basic freedoms and rights in the Lakeview District of Cordovia. The story really begins when Jesse and Caroline investigate and uncover the depths of her fiance’s depravity, who is just a small pawn in a larger scale corruption and a possible resurrection of “The Kingsman.” In particular I really enjoyed the short sojourn Jesse and Caroline take on his former pirate ship to escape arrest, with a cast of engaging supporting characters.
Carolyn Kashner narrated this audiobook and she did a wonderful job with varying voices for both male and female characters. Because this story picks up shortly after the second book (The Highwaymen of Cordovia), I recommend starting with the first book to better understand the overarching premise and interrelationships between the characters.

Need a fox?
Cordovia is now enjoying their new freedom!
Benjamin Davies hires Jesse Conover to watch over his spunky yet brave daughter Caroline because he has a bad feeling about her fiancé. One day, after overhearing something Jesse notices Caroline run frantically away from her fiancés house.
Caroline and Jesse go on a mission of disguise to figure things out.
This story contains a lot of adventure and a sweet romance. I think it speaks more of the times than the other two books in this series,
As I was reading this series I kept wondering how the author came up with this storyline. So I just want to say thank you to Linda Weaver Clarke for the authors notes.

Swashbuckling Adventure!
Any additional comments?
This is the 3rd book in the rebel series but it stands alone. It is a lovely romantic adventure without foul language or sex. In this story Caroline overhears a plot by her fiancé to kidnap a woman in order to get money for his upcoming election. Caroline flees immediately, is followed, but is protected by Jesse - who is also The Fox! Their adventure includes clever disguises, ruses, and hiding on a pirate ship.
I appreciated the author's message regarding the recognizing of abusive relationships where a partner tries to obtain dominance by controlling and belittling,
I was gifted a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
