Story
Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn, but in a rapidly changing world, there's another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think hard. We see disagreement as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn.

A Much Needed Book or Every Dad
I can confidently say that this book is a must-have for any parent with a toddler. The 3-pronged approach to handling the challenges and joys of raising a toddler is spot-on, and the strategies outlined in the book are real-life dad-approved.
I particularly appreciate the section on managing meltdowns without losing your cool. The book provides evidence-based strategies that can help you calm your child down in under 5 minutes. I have personally tried some of these techniques, and they work like a charm!
Finally, the life-saving survival kit to rejuvenate your parenting spirit in just 10 minutes a day is a godsend. As parents, we tend to neglect our own needs, but this section of the book encourages parents to take care of themselves too.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to any parent raising a toddler. It's filled with practical tips and strategies that can help make the journey of parenting a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Great advice for dads
It's so interesting how different the advice is for raising kids, especially if you are advising the mom or the dad. In listening to this book, I was very appreciative that this type of book is available for dads because I feel like most times they are told to follow their mom's lead but in reality, that's not what they want. They want to be able to stand on their own 2 feet and contribute to the growth and development of their toddler. When my kids were little, I felt like my husband was lost. His dad wasn't around when he was little so I feel like he was missing those foundational skills for when he became a dad. Toddlers can bring out a range of emotions in us adults and learning how to appropriately address these meltdowns and such is one of the most important things that dads need to be a part of. Emotional intelligence is important on everyone's part. Chapter 2 is all about Language of Love which helps with various situations that will require you as a dad to keep your cool.
Great book for any dad out there. Whether you already have kids or you are a new dad, there is loads of information in this book that you will find helpful.

The only book you'll need for the toddler years!
This was a much more comprehensive book than I had anticipated it would be. I have a god-daughter whose husband's birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him something that would help at the home front. They currently have 2 toddlers and I see burnout around the corner for them. I have raised 5 kids and this book has great advice, tips and tricks. favorite chapters: Meltdown, Boundaries and the key takeaways at the end of each chapter. I also really appreciated the free PDF that came along with the audiobook! I recommend!
