About this listen
“The F*ck It Diet is not only hilarious, it is scientifically and medically sound. A must read for any chronic dieter.” (Christiane Northrup, MD, New York Times best-selling author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom)
From comedian and ex-diet junkie Caroline Dooner, an inspirational guide that will help you stop dieting, reboot your relationship with food, and regain your personal power.
Dieting doesn't work.
Not long term. In fact, our bodies are hardwired against it. But each time our diets fail, instead of considering that maybe our ridiculously low-carb diet is the problem, we wonder what’s wrong with us. Why can’t we stick to our simple plan of grapefruit and tuna fish? Why are we so hungry? What is wrong with us?
We berate ourselves for being lazy and weak, double down on our belief that losing weight is the key to our everlasting happiness, and resolve to do better tomorrow. But it’s time we called a spade a spade: Constantly trying to eat the smallest amount possible is a miserable way to live, and it isn’t even working. So f--k eating like that.
In The F*ck It Diet, Caroline Dooner tackles the inherent flaws of dieting and diet culture and offers listeners a counterintuitively simple path to healing their physical, emotional, and mental relationship with food. What’s the secret anti-diet? Eat. Whatever you want. Honor your appetite and listen to your hunger. Trust that your body knows what it is doing. Oh, and don’t forget to rest, breathe, and be kind to yourself while you’re at it.
Once you get yourself out of survival mode, it will become easier and easier to eat what your body really needs - a healthier relationship with food ultimately leads to a healthier you.
An ex-yo-yo dieter herself, Dooner knows how terrifying it can be to break free of the vicious cycle, but with her signature sharp humor and compassion, she shows listeners that a sustainable, easy relationship with food is possible.
Irreverent and empowering, The F*ck It Diet is call to arms for anyone who feels guilt or pain over food, weight, or their body. It’s time to give up the shame and start thriving. Welcome to the f--k it diet. Let’s eat.

Story
Sixty-eight percent of Americans have dieted at some point in their lives. But upwards of 90 percent of people who intentionally lose weight gain it back within five years. And as many as 66 percent of people who embark on weight-loss efforts end up gaining more weight than they lost. If dieting is so clearly ineffective, why are we so obsessed with it? The culprit is diet culture, a system of beliefs that equates thinness to health and moral virtue, promotes weight loss as a means of attaining higher status, and demonizes certain ways of eating while elevating others.

At 29, Kelsey Miller had done it all: crash diets, healthy diets, and nutritionist-prescribed "eating plans", which are diets that you pay more money for. She'd been fighting her un-thin body since early childhood and, after a lifetime of failure, finally hit bottom. No diet could transform her body or her life. There was no shortcut to skinny salvation. She'd dug herself into this hole, and now it was time to climb out of it.

“It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.” You've probably heard this phrase from any number of people in the wellness space. But as Christy Harrison reveals in her latest book, wellness culture promotes a standard of health that is often both unattainable and deeply harmful. The Wellness Trap delves into the persistent, systemic problems with that industry, offering insight into its troubling pattern of cultural appropriation and its destructive views on mental health, and shedding light on how a growing distrust of conventional medicine has led ordinary people to turn their backs on science.

Most women have spent time dieting and trying to change themselves in order to fit into a mold - and a body - that is deemed socially acceptable. Yet it is dieting that is the problem: It disconnects us from our bodies wisdom and holds us back from living life to the fullest. The more time we spend trying to "fix" ourselves, the less time we have for the things that really matter.

Story
Most women have spent time dieting and trying to change themselves in order to fit into a mold - and a body - that is deemed socially acceptable. Yet it is dieting that is the problem: It disconnects us from our bodies wisdom and holds us back from living life to the fullest. The more time we spend trying to "fix" ourselves, the less time we have for the things that really matter.

This is crazy
I really liked this book, but I have to admit everything she says about dieting sounds CRAZY! I kept thinking the whole time "that is just impossible".... The author is the narrator and she is extremely good, she made the book fast and fun to listen...but again, I can't see myself doing this diet.

Great book!
I ordered this book at the recommendation of my Psychologist. I have had a lengthy history of body dysmorphia, disordered eating and yo-yo dieting. This book is 100% dead on. It’s funny and so helpful. I initially just bought the audio book to listen to while driving but I am now getting the paper copy to go through again as it has such valuable information. Definitely recommend to anyone!!

Glad I read/listened to this
This book is a great compliment to where I am on my own personal journey. The timing was perfect to encourage me not to give up and change my intuitive eating practice into yet another diet. I am excited to go bath through and work on the writing prompts and exercises.

LOVED!
So easy to listen to and just what I needed! this was my 3rd book on my intuitive eating journey and Inwish it had been my first because of the emphasis on letting go. This is probably the biggest and most important hurdle on the journey!

Transformative
I was skeptical about listening to this book thinking it’s another intuitive eating book telling me to eat slowly and mindfully etc.—all great advice but still feels like a diet. This book however has been transformative and life changing for me, as if a huge burden is off my shoulders. It’s incredible the way it gets to the bottom of what we need to do to recover from the deprivation and shame that dieting creates for us. Highly highly recommended!

Absolutely incredible.
This book has changed my life. Caroline’s candor, thoughtfulness, and humor really made the material so much easier to wrap my head around. I feel like the lessons she imparts are applicable to all aspects of life, not just food and weight. In that spirit, I am going to go eat a snack and have a lie down.

Rethinking the concept of living
I really enjoyed listening to the book. Great author and a relaxed flow of narrative that made the idea of rethinking diet, thought process, and lifestyle eye-opening. It was recommended to me and I will gladly recommend it to others!
