About this listen

The eleventh installment in the bestselling Borrowed World series.

Originally launched in 2015, the first book in this series spawned a fictional universe that inspired two spin-off series, over two dozen books, and over one million copies sold.

After nearly a year and a half without power, Jim Powell’s community has begun to stabilize. The Reset Roadhouse—Jim’s apocalyptic bar, restaurant, and trading post—gave his people something to do and helped expand his network of friends and contacts. The establishment has become a hub of the community and is allowing Jim to better monitor what goes on in the town. Then the promise of electricity changes everything.

When Walter Lightspeed took the office of President of the United States, he swore to deliver power to the people. He appears to be living up to his promise, but what will that mean for small-town America? Can people surrender their weapons and resume their old lives? All those questions are pushed to the side as people are consumed with the dream that things might soon be normal again.

But will they?

I loved this book. The story was great and gave us all some answers to what everyone had been doing in the valley . It gave us plenty to think about. Loved that Kevin Pierce was the narrator.

Jim is truly a hero of the first water, reminding me of King David in some ways, in King and Slater (by Matt Rogers) in others. Of course narration by Kevin Pierce is always a bonus plus situation.

I'd already listened to the demise of Lightfoot and his upgraded system, but hearing the effects on a community was absolutely necessary in a way I didn't realize I really needed. Can't wait for the next one.

ok, starting with one and only thing I dislike ...waiting for the next book in the series. Action packed with never a dull moment.

Never a dull moment

It’s everything we’d hoped for in the newest book, although this book has far more humor. It’s easy to laugh out loud in several parts of the book. If you’ve read the whole Mad Mick series, this book ties in perfectly. You kind of know what’s coming, but the execution is hilarious. Jim is refreshingly Jim.
Listening to Kevin Pierce is home-sweet-apocalypse-home. It’s always a pleasure.

Franklin never disappoints
