About this listen

The wife. The mistress. Who will get their revenge?

I was the other woman. The mistress. Everyone blamed Doctor Drew Devlin’s death on me. And I’ve paid the price for loving the wrong man.

Now, I have dark circles under my eyes because I can’t sleep at night. I lost everything–friends, family, my home and even my freedom. Drew’s devious wife Fern tore my whole world apart. And she thinks she’s got away with murder.

But she’s wrong. It’s time for revenge. For myself… and for my baby.

Her new life on the windswept Cornish coast is about to come crashing down around her. I’m determined for everyone to find out the true story. Because now it’s not just my life in danger, I’ve got to protect the doctor’s daughter too.

I know Fern will expect me to come after her–I’m certain she will have her own plan in place to stop me. After all, she’s duped so many people before.

But then again, Fern always did underestimate me. And by the time she realizes, it’ll be far too late for the doctor’s wife…

An absolutely addictive psychological thriller with twist after twist from the number one bestselling author of The Doctor’s Wife. If you loved Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train then The Doctor’s Mistress will keep you listening long into the night!

I enjoyed listening, but even though I often like rooting for the bad guy who has reasons or extenuating circumstances, this one pushed the limits on that. Bad, bad lady.

I enjoyed it

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Sometimes I find myself rooting for the victim and then the next moment the villainess! Well written story! I can’t wait for the last book of this series!

Great series!

Fern and Alice, what can I say? They are 2 ladies who are bitter enemies until the end.
Who will outsmart the other? Will it be Fern determined to wreak havoc wherever she goes in order to stay safe or will Alice again lose everything to find Fern?

This is a juicy tale of betrayal and forgiveness that is a must audio.

Another Masterpiece

I love how all the story lines were completed in this 3rd book of the series. The female narrator used the exact same voice for Fern & Alice. She needs to alter voices or use a 3rd narrator. I enjoyed the series.

Great 3rd book

Third installment in this trilogy proves that the characters Fern and Alice are definitely problematic. Both continuously and consistently have drama in their lives that never ends. The ending is a bit off but such as it is.

Good story

the story is ok, it's a little chatty. each character repeats the story line almost every chapter. those parts were hard to get through cause it's been told so many other times.

has a good twist

The Doctor's Mistress by Daniel Hurst is so much better than The Doctor's Widow. As soon as I put my request in, I saw the title for book #4 and was certain it ruined this book. Thankfully, I was wrong as The Doctor's Mistress doesn't go in the expected direction and is more about how each woman is coping with motherhood and their past choices. I suggest not reading the summary for The Doctor's Child until finishing this book.

I like that we hear from Fern, Alice, and Tomlin and that they continue to play the entertaining cat and mouse game. There are some decisions made that I didn't agree with, but didn't find them outlandish or ridiculous (well, one regarding Dimitri, but any questions of validity are answered before the end). It's an exciting and emotional read that I highly recommend.

Sarah Durham and Luke R. Francis are great narrators. I like the range and emotion they brought to their characters. It would have been nice if Fern and Alice each had their own narrator as they sound exactly the same. Anytime I picked the book up in the middle of a chapter, I had to use context clues to remember who we were hearing from.

Thank you to Bookouture for providing me with an ALC.
