About this listen

The pulse-pounding, psychological thriller, from the international top ten bestselling author of The Sleepover and The Summer House

How well do you really know your husband?

Two years ago, my whole world was ripped apart when my husband and best friend were killed in a car accident in Norfolk. Since then, I've struggled to come to terms with my overwhelming grief and to understand why they were together in Charlie’s car that fateful day.

I know I can’t carry on with my reclusive lifestyle, hiding away, alone in this big house. I have to find a way to start living again.

Following a friend’s advice, I sign up to a reputable dating site, IntoYou. She tells me it’s the perfect way to meet someone, and when I quickly get a match, I believe she is right. I am surprised how easy this is.

But it seems I have a lot to learn. Anyone can hide behind a computer screen, using the sinister mask of anonymity. It seems by exposing myself I've attracted the wrong kind of attention.

Strange things start to happen in my life and shocking secrets come to light. Evil is watching me and it is connected to my past.
Will I see the danger before it’s too late?

The thrilling listen for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

I rate books on how they kept my interest. I listen to audiobooks only when I drive so that’s roughly about 2 hours a day. If a book is really good then I’ll think about it even when I’m not listening and this one kept me thinking. I have always been leery about meeting people on dating sites and now I’m staying away from them. I found it interesting that the author made you feel one way about the “male stranger” and just when you think it is a fatal attraction, the book shifts. The one thing to criticize is the same thing I see in so many books like this is the main character jumping to conclusions when they see something that bothers them. Instead of sitting down and talking to the love interest about what they saw they just make their mind up to walk away. Other than that I loved this listen and look forward to what Kerri Beavis comes out with next.

Another Great One

Keri Beevis is so good at writing books that will keep you wanting more! Storylines are always great and not predictable like some other authors.

Great suspense!

While, this book does keep you on the edge of your seat, it is a little dark and creepy, but I do like that about this author. I have enjoyed her other books. This one a little drawn out in the middle. Good narration. Definitely worth it if you like an easy to read, quick thriller.

Suspense and twists!

The reader was fantastic. However, the story was a bit drawn out and the female lead was such a cry baby and such a victim. Yes she had a lot of stuff going on but goodness, put your big girl undies on and get going!!! She has no inner strength! Overall not the worst.

A little drawn out

A slow start made it hard to get into at first, and I was not a fan of the narration stalker voice— it felt more distracting than suspenseful. Lots of online dating in the beginning- felt like date after date and date …However, once the secrets about the husband began to surface, the pace finally picked up, and the tension built much stronger. Lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing, and the final reveal was satisfying. Despite a rough start, it was a solid, entertaining read.

Despite the slow start, solid listen!

Started off with interesting storyline and some intrigue. The narrator always having Parker speak in a constant state of panic and high anxiety made listening difficult for me. Also, toward the end, such detailed descriptions of the psychopath’s tortuous plans for the victims was not my taste in thriller novels. This was my first audiobook by Ms Beevis, so will give her another chance.

Narration of Parker and the psychopath was annoying

Everything was so graphic and ugh- almost didn’t / could not finish. Waste of time and credit. Don’t do it

Don’t waste your credit or time trust me awful 😞
