Story
Helena Andrews-Dyer lives in a “hot” Washington, D.C., neighborhood, which means picturesque row houses and plenty of gentrification. After having her first child, she joined the local mom group—“the Mamas”—and quickly realized that being one of the only Black mothers in the mix was a mixed bag. But spending time in what she calls “the Polly Pocket world of postracial parenting” was a welcome reprieve. Then George Floyd happened. A man was murdered, a man who called out for his mama. And suddenly, the Mamas hit different.

Story
Investing in your future is easier than you think—discover how and achieve financial security more quickly than you can possibly imagine. Young adults are especially financially vulnerable because they’re just starting out, want a lot of “stuff,” and are not earning the big bucks yet. So, they’re borrowing too much and saving too little (if at all), and they’re in a financial mess. But it doesn’t have to be like that. Instead, imagine a life where you have peace of mind, because your financial affairs are in order, and you’re on the right path to building wealth.

Some 75% of American families want their kids to play sports. Athletics are training grounds for character, friendship, and connection; at their best, sports insulate kids from hardship and prepare them for adult life. But youth sports have changed so dramatically over the last 25 years that they no longer deliver the healthy outcomes everyone wants. Instead, unbeknownst to most parents, kids who play competitive organized sports are more likely to burn out or suffer from overuse injuries than to develop their characters or build healthy habits.

In this fascinating and entertaining look at games throughout history, Tim Clare explores the legal highs of a good dice roll, the thrills of a predatory race game, and the tactile pleasures of the games that age with us through our lives. Drawing on Roman anti-cheating devices, organised crime card games, and dice contests that link Chaucer to Warren G, The Game Changers will show you why games are more popular now than ever, and how playing them helps us win more often, become better losers and stay one step ahead - on and off the board. Through play, we become fully ourselves.

Story
Do you know anyone who's truly living The Good Life? Traditionally, philosophers and psychologists have thought of the Good Life in terms of happiness or meaning, or some combination of both. But, if it’s really that simple, if all you need is more happiness or meaning to get to the Good Life, why aren’t more of us achieving that truly “good” life? You’ve hit all the traditional markers, jumped on the happiness train, committed to a gratitude practice, sought purpose in your work, and yet The Good Life you’re seeking, is still out of reach.

Great Financial Starter for Kids & Teens
This audiobook breaks down essential money skills in a simple, engaging way. I liked how it used real-life examples to teach budgeting, saving, and investing without making it feel overwhelming. The step-by-step approach makes it easy to follow, especially for younger listeners. Some topics could have been explored in more depth, but overall, it’s a solid resource for building smart money habits early on. A great tool for parents or educators looking to teach financial literacy!

great financial guide for young adults
As a young adult navigating studies, work, and a small business all at once, it’s really important to me to be financially literate so I don’t let all this hard work go to waste. This audiobook breaks down money habits in an easy-to-understand way, covering everything from budgeting to investing. The practical advice made me feel more in control of my finances. It’s a great resource for anyone looking to secure their financial future. However, since it's quite long, I wish there was a PDF or some form of notes to refer back to, sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all the details without pausing the audiobook. Overall, though, it’s definitely worth the listen!

Great Guide For Young Adults For their Future
This book has been so great to listen to with my teens. The financial lessons are valuable and its good to have them hear it for themselves from someone other than from Mom. It’s been great to listen to together, sparking meaningful conversations that help reinforce the concepts. It has been great to recognize what their goals are, and how they want to go about it. The audiobook does an excellent job of making topics like saving, budgeting, and investing easy to understand and even enjoyable. I love the step-by-step approach to building smart money habits, offering practical tips that can be applied right away, my kids are definitely being more aware of their relationship with money, how they want to manage and budget their money. And it has them wanting to work more so they have more to invest- so that's a plus. Both books complement each other well, expanding on key themes without feeling repetitive. This has been a valuable resource that we will continue to go to for guidance.

Very informative!
I really enjoyed my time listening to this! It explains everything, like budgeting, saving, and even investing, in such a simple way that anyone can get it. I loved the real-life examples because they actually make sense, and the tips on avoiding scams and managing credit are super helpful especially since no one really teaches you this stuff in school. The parts about college finances and taxes were a total lifesaver for me, and it really made me feel like I can handle money like an adult. Worth the time!
