About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The audiobook best seller.
Do you sabotage your own happiness and success? Are you struggling to make sense of yourself? Do your emotions sometimes dictate your life?
The Chimp Paradox is an incredibly powerful mind management model that can help you become a happy, confident, healthier and more successful person. Prof Steve Peters explains the struggle that takes place within your mind and then shows how to apply this understanding to every area of your life so you can:
- Recognise how your mind is working.
- Understand and manage your emotions and thoughts.
- Manage yourself and become the person you would like to be.
The Chimp Mind Management Model is based on scientific facts and principles, which have been simplified into a workable model for easy use. It will help you to develop yourself and give you the skills, for example, to remove anxiety, have confidence and choose your emotions. The audiobook will do this by giving you an understanding of the way in which your mind works and how you can manage it. It will also help you to identify what is holding you back or preventing you from having a happier and more successful life.
Each chapter explains different aspects of how you function and highlights key facts for you to understand. There are also exercises for you to work with. By undertaking these exercises you will see immediate improvements in your daily living and, over time, you will develop emotional skills and practical habits that will help you to become the person that you want to be, and live the life that you want to live.

Eye opening listening
I loved this audiobook as it gives me specific examples that makes you think on your personal planets of success and happiness. Our emotional and logical self are the most conflicting and hand by hand mechanisms. Learning more about them and how to manage is only useful!

Very good and enjoyable read
From all the "self-help" I have read so far, this is certainly the one that we can relate to. We all allow the chimps to rule our lives from time to time. Now that they have been identified once understanding of how to manage the chimps can only be of huge benefit to ourselves. The narrator has a bit of a monotonous voice but I still found him intriguing rather than annoying. I love his accent and his overall performance. Definitely a book I will recommended

Realising the inner chimp
A constructive way of thinking that is well explained. I particularly enjoyed some of the analogies. It is well worth a listen

Certainly one of the best and most practical mind models
Displays mainly a very good abstraction of a man (always adopting), chimp (carries wisdom of billions of years but rarely change , and computer (what’s called by others “flow state”)

Amazing
for all people whos seeking to learn about the human brain and want to develop themselves and their relationship with themselves and the others: you need, again you NEED to read this book,
the book explained why we react in some ways that we regret after, and why we do things somehow against our beliefs and how we can train ourselves to develop our behaviors and interactions to the provocation and day to day life actions.

well written and practical
The book starts off at a fast pace and gets into the ideas quickly. It took me almost half the book to first start processing all the ideas. I will have to listen to it again to absorb more and get a more balanced idea of the book
