Perhaps some now regard this issue as the burned-over district of New Testament scholarship. Could there be any new and promising approach to this problem? Yes, answers Michael Licona. And he convincingly points us to a significant deficiency in approaching this question: our historiographical orientation and practice.

Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

On account of the superficial points of agreement between Islam and Christianity, many don't see how tremendously deep the divides between them really are, and fewer still have considered the evidence for each faith. How is jihad different from the Crusades? Can we know the life of Jesus as well as the life of Muhammad? What reason is there to believe in one faith over the other, and what difference can the Gospel really make?

Story
To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. 6Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God.

But with new challenges comes the need for a fresh apologetic that specifically addresses the arguments levied against faith in our time of scientific atheism and skepticism. Alister McGrath's Mere Apologetics seeks to equip listeners to engage gracefully and intelligently with the challenges facing the faith today while drawing appropriately on the wisdom of the past.

Story
Renowned theologian John Frame sheds much-needed light on the message and method of genuinely Christian apologetics in this landmark title. He insightfully examines apologetics in terms of proof, defense, and offense and clarifies the relationships of reason, proofs, and evidences to faith, biblical authority, and the lordship of Christ. Two subjects of particular note are Frame's fresh look at probability arguments and a stimulating investigation into the problem of evil.

Story
Rumors of deception have surrounded claims of Jesus' resurrection ever since the soldiers appointed to guard his tomb made their report to the Jewish authorities. But no one has led the philosophic charge against miracles quite as influentially as David Hume with his 1748 essay "Of Miracles." Refined, revised, restated, his arguments still affect philosophic discussions of miracles today.

It matters—but discussions on whether the New Testament is historically accurate can be tedious and overwhelming. We want to be confident that the reports in the New Testament are true and dependable, but scholarly discussions around the authenticity of the events recounted in Scripture can be challenging to navigate. Dr. Ben Shaw provides the clear introduction we've needed for understanding the New Testament's historical reliability.

J. Gresham Machen once said, "False ideas are the greatest obstacles to the reception of the Gospel" - which makes apologetics that much more important. Wanting to engage not just academics and pastors but Christian laypeople and seekers, William Lane Craig has revised and updated key sections in this third edition of his classic text to reflect the latest work in astrophysics, philosophy, probability calculus, arguments for the existence of God, and Reformed epistemology.

Story
It has never been more important to articulate the wonder and enchantment of the Christian message. Yet the traditional approaches of apologetics are often outmoded in an age of profound disenchantment and distraction, unable to meet this pressing need. This winsome apologetics book for a new generation makes the case that Christianity offers a compelling explanatory framework for making sense of our world. Pastor and writer Gavin Ortlund believes it is essential to appeal not only to the mind but also to the heart and the imagination as we articulate the beauty of the gospel.

An essential too For witnessing to skeptics
I found this extremely helpful in focusing on extrabiblical historical evidence for the resurrection. It answers the question how do I witness to someone who doesn’t believe that the Bible is true. I’m going to listen to it again while cycling lots of good tools lots of good points and approaches without overwhelming the person and reasoning together in love and not arrogance

Excellent resource in Christian Apologetics
The authors lay out a lot of facts and even go into details that some might not expect. It gives a lot of information, so anyone new to these arguments may want to take their time going through it and perhaps reread (or listen to) it. At the end there are also a lot of helpful tips for sharing this information with nonbelievers warnings about getting off track in the discussion and communicating these truths with the right heart.
This is a great resource, I highly recommend it!

Skeptical about Skeptics’ claims
Very good counter argument to skeptics claiming Jesus’s resurrection never happened. I gave 4 stars not 5 because I disagree with the book’s critique of Mormonism. Admittedly I am LDS (Mormon) and thus biased. But so are the accounts of the resurrection biased. The book does say that bias doesn’t necessarily undermine credibility of the accounts. Overall a good analysis of skeptics claims.
