About this listen
In The Builders, humanity’s greatest war begins with a mystery: an enigmatic object discovered in Earth’s oceans. For Kimberly "Kim" Pinkerton, a brilliant missile guidance expert, this event pulls her into a web of intergalactic intrigue. She joins a team of specialists to decode the builders’ technology—an ancient network known as the grid that connects the galaxy’s civilizations.
But the grid is under attack by the architects, an AI-driven faction determined to perfect the galaxy by any means—even if it means annihilating flawed civilizations like humanity. As Kim and her team race to uncover the builders’ secrets, they realize the grid is more than just a technological marvel. It’s alive, evolving, and tied to humanity in ways no one could have imagined.
Across five action-packed books, Kim battles relentless foes, navigates impossible choices, and uncovers her role as the builders’ chosen failsafe. From Earth to the far side of the moon, to the galaxy’s edge and the grid’s heart, she leads humanity in a war for survival and purpose. The saga culminates in a climactic sacrifice that stabilizes the Eternal Grid, a living network poised to guide civilizations toward a brighter future.
The Builders is a thrilling blend of military strategy, deep character development, and galactic-scale stakes, celebrating humanity’s ingenuity and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.

good
Really good reading by Stephen Fry. Reads it like a master story teller. Enjoyed the different voices he can do and his pronunciation is spot on. Fantastic
