About this listen

An unconventional audiobook of wisdom and life advice from renowned business school professor and New York Times best-selling author of The Four Scott Galloway.

Scott Galloway teaches brand strategy at NYU's Stern School of Business, but his most popular lectures deal with life strategy, not business. In the classroom, on his blog, and in YouTube videos garnering millions of views, he regularly offers hard-hitting answers to the big questions: What's the formula for a life well lived? How can you have a meaningful career, not just a lucrative one? Is work/life balance possible? What are the elements of a successful relationship?

The Algebra of Happiness: Notes on the Pursuit of Success, Love, and Meaning draws on Professor Galloway's mix of anecdotes and no-BS insight to share hard-won wisdom about life's challenges, along with poignant personal stories.

Whether it's advice on if you should drop out of school to be an entrepreneur (it might have worked for Steve Jobs, but you're probably not Steve Jobs), ideas on how to position yourself in a crowded job market (do something "boring" and move to a city; passion is for people who are already rich), discovering what the most important decision in your life is (it's not your job, your car, or your zip code), or arguing that our relationships to others are ultimately all that matter, Galloway entertains, inspires, and provokes.

Brash, funny, and surprisingly moving, The Algebra of Happiness represents a refreshing perspective on our need for both professional success and personal fulfillment and makes the perfect gift for any new graduate or for anyone who feels adrift.

Best audiobook in years!

I can’t even say how many self improvement audiobooks I’ve listened to over the years. Countless. This is by far the best. The perspective this book has shed on my life has been priceless. If you have small kids this is a must listen! Wow.

Something I will listen to multiple times

Quick, witty, and advice as it should be (with full disclosure of blind spots and shortcomings).

Scott in his candor and acceptance of fallibility comes off as incredibly genuine and I appreciated that.

Gangsta. The Big Dawg and his ball. Delivered!

Such a clear, blue flame thinker is our Scott. I'm glad Scott did the reading for this. That made it more meaningful. Bravo from the team at Bondi Ukuleles. For more than 8 years, your work has had a positive impact on us. Thanks for everything. You've made a real, ever lasting positive impact. Now, go chase that ball.

A good checklist for living life in happiness

Entertaining, good read for the youts but us ole Fs that have done the work mentally and spiritually would probably not get much out of this accept some moments of " oh yeah".... still like the Profs delivery.

Easy listen. Excellent. Share with family and friends.

Things that many of us know (if you are older than 50) yet hearing it summarized in Scotts serious yet funny, honest and entertaining voice makes this an annual listen. Maybe a new New Year resolution. For me. For my adult boys. Affirmations. Reminders of what’s really important in the time we spend in this world. Thank you Scott, for giving us this gift.

Real Advice

The writing wasn’t what impressed, nor was the delivery, but Galloway’s advice is real and makes so much sense. It’s his story and I appreciated every minute of it. Vulnerable and raw…a great job.
