About this listen
This is a gay romance that contains erotic scenes.
Nick Tremantle has had a rough 10 months. His professional life took a nosedive, and then his mom's health took a turn for the worse. In a short space of time, everything changed. So when he spies the young man hitchhiking, Nick pulls over - he needs all the karma he can lay his hands on. But when the identity of the young man is revealed, it sets in motion a chain of events that unfold quickly, changing Nick's life completely. Alex Nordmann's life has definitely not gone the way he'd planned. Gone are his dreams of an education and living his life "his" way. He'd thought the worst was over until the morning he decided to come out to his parents. It just goes to show, people will surprise you every time. For instance, who could have foreseen that the man who gives him a ride - and an unexpected lifeline - would have been Alex's first crush all those years ago? Alex has no idea what's coming at him....

Story
Being invited to my cousin’s wedding really shouldn’t be a big deal except, oh yeah, I haven't seen my family for a decade. My parents turned their backs on me, and I’ve done everything since to become successful and show them what they've lost. Only it’s kinda hard to be a success when you’re a walking trainwreck.

Story
Jonathon de Mountford’s visit to Merrychurch village to stay with his uncle Dominic gets off to a bad start when Dominic fails to appear at the railway station. But when Jonathon finds him dead in his study, apparently as the result of a fall, everything changes. For one thing, Jonathon is the next in line to inherit the manor house. For another, he’s not so sure it was an accident, and with the help of Mike Tattersall, the owner of the village pub, Jonathon sets out to prove his theory - if he can concentrate long enough without getting distracted by the handsome Mike.

Story
Ten-year-old Chris’ request to see Santa again takes Dave by surprise. He’s a little old for that, surely? But Dave will do anything to put a smile on his son’s face. Except when they get there, Santa is the one to make Dave smile. He’s pretty sure there’s a gorgeous man hiding beneath that white beard. And those eyes...not that Dave gets a chance to even say hello. Chris tells Dave to stay back. Well, Christmas is a time for secrets, right? Jeff loves playing Santa. That cute kid with the huge eyes - and the hot-looking dad - just surprised the hell out of him.

Story
Growing up in a small town in Georgia hasn't prepared him for the more liberal life of a student at the university in Athens. Add to that the teachings of his parents and his church, and you have one shy young man who feels out of his depth. Working on his daddy's farm hasn't given him any chance of a social life, certainly not one like the clubs of Atlanta have to offer. Not that Tommy feels comfortable when he gets to sample it - Momma's lectures still ring loudly inside his head.

I’m a SEAL. Or rather, I was. Retired at the grand old age of 38, I’m at loose ends. My best friend wants me to join his security team. I’m not sure I’m bodyguard material, but he needs someone to protect his kid brother. How hard can spoiled brat duty be? Somehow, I missed the part where former child star Danny Love went from dorky TV darling to all grown up and disturbingly attractive. All the gossip about his wild ways fails to mention that he’s trying hard to clean up his act.

Light May/December with fair narration
Nick is a (essentially) closeted gay man who’s hiding from his true self due to a lot of guilt and because he lives in Florida. It takes running into the person who made him realize he was gay (a former student) as an adult for him to realize that he needed to really take a good look at himself and what he was “worth”.
Alex, who in years is the younger of the two in this couple, has ages and ages on Nick in terms of emotional maturity and (to some extent) experience (especially as a gay man). I think KC Wells did a tremendous job of showing how these two – with such a big age gap – could actually work so well together because of this difference in their emotional maturities.
I also think that despite his age, Nick has a strong need to be led and Alex is a great leader for him. I really liked that aspect of their relationship and felt it really worked for them.
There are certainly moments in this that are a little OTT in terms of drama. Alex’s illness, Nick’s mom and her issues and his subsequent guilt - these things were fairly huge and while I understand how it shaped them both, I wonder just how necessary it was to give them so many obstacles. Frankly, being so different in age and living in Florida would be enough to keep these guys busy for awhile! But I do think that it was handled well and in this short-ish story things move along quickly and we get to the good stuff!
I do wonder at their longevity once Alex finishes college… but we have to just trust in their HEA.
I enjoyed this as a quick, mostly light, story of May/December and OFY love and think anyone who has ever fantasized about a teacher will get a kick out of it!

Audio
Rob Drex is a new to me narrator and in general I think he did a pretty good job. He was good at the pacing and emotion and he gave each MC a subtly different voice so that it was easy to tell who was speaking. What I didn’t like, however, was the fact that nobody in the story had an accent – and living in a small town in Florida, I think people would have one. Also, his voice seemed a little too old – even for Nick. I also got distracted by some of the sounds he made that made me think he had a dry mouth and needed to get a drink of water or something.
In any case, my complaints weren’t so many that I didn’t like the narration, it just wasn’t my favorite and I’d have to listen to a sample again before I purchased an audiobook by him in the future.

Reevaluation
This is so sweet to see these two men have to totally re-evaluate things they had assumed about themselves and about life. In many ways Nick is a man has let the voices of others dictate his life and Alex despite his younger age has more courage but he is willing to share. In the role reversal of their lives you get a story full of love and a happy ending.

My fav book in this series!
K.C. Wells never disappoints, although like with her Personal Series, the stories were quite similar to each other. Teach Me, the first in this series, was my favorite, although I liked the 3rd one a lot, too. While the tropes were standard, the character development sucked me in and made me root for Nick and Alex as a couple.
The narration was good and kept me riveted on the story.

MMy Thoughts and Review:
This was a sweet, though sometimes bittersweet romance about two men who through fate, destiny, chance, or circumstance found their way in each other's lives after not having seen each other for eight years.
MC#1, Nick was the HS teacher to MC#2, Alex. Even though eight years may not seem like long in the span of things, during that time both men have suffered more than most do in their entire lifetimes. Clinging to one another first as lifelines in their upside-down worlds, then as friends, they learn from each other day by day. The things they learn kindled by the sparks of a crush each had on the other eight years ago when legal and moral issues stood in their way, eventually ignite into rapturous flames until Nick and Alex are refined by love's fire.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Audible edition of this book. The narrator, Rob Drex did a tremendous job bringing life to the story, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. 💖

This book was well written but too short the story was great. I had bought the kindle book but to hear someone else read it was a totally different experience. I would highly recommend this book.

I’m sorry but the narrator was just too breathy. It was a complete distraction to the story. I felt like he wanted the characters to be girls. The storyline had potential to interest but I lost interest with the breathy voices.

Teach Me
Nick’s life is in chaos at the moment. He is trying to come to terms with his sexuality and how it turns his life upside down. On a day where he needs extra time to think he comes across a young man who used to be his student. The young man needs help and Nick cannot just let Alex go without offering to help him.
Their story is a sweet one that has two men finding their way towards happiness. Each man has their own demons to deal with. Soon the two learn that they can lean on each other and find the support that they need. It was nice to see the Nick and Alex connect, and I loved the banter and interaction that they have once they are comfortable with their situation. This is a quick story that gives listeners a nice happy ending. Narrator Rob Drex moves the story along at a good pace, but I am not a fan of the voices that he used and the way that they came off.

left me wanting more
while it was a great place to end the story, part of me wished it was longer. I liked the narration. first time I've listened to this narrator. however, sometimes I heard background sounds, almost like rainfall. it was well into the book and maybe lasted a total of 10 or 15 minutes. had the book been much longer with that sound, it would have been frustrating, but it didn't destract that much from the enjoyable of the story.
overall, I'll probably look for more from this narrator. of course I'm a huge fan of the author, so thanks again.
