About this listen

The Recruiting profession is constantly under attack. Hiring managers, job seekers, and social media influencers have misunderstood Recruiters for far too long. Recruiters themselves are not given the training, tools, or support necessary to thrive in their roles and are, unsurprisingly, on the receiving end of much animosity.

The negative perception of this profession is finally corrected in Talented and sheds some sorely needed insight into the reality of this thankless and strenuous role.

Listeners will learn:

  • How to be the best Recruiter possible.
  • Practical tactics for recruiting success.
  • Techniques for working with job seekers and managers.
  • How to overcome recruiting roadblocks.
  • How to deal with the harsh reality of recruiting.

This practical, yet equally philosophical guide will be useful for anybody who is new to Recruiting, seeking a new job, or actively working with a team of Recruiters.

This book is both insightful and witty. The narrator speaks at a perfect pace and tone which kept my attention well. One of my favorite parts was when the author made the point that any other sales role is much more stagnant in terms of what they’re selling. In recruiting, what you’re selling is always changing, and the human experience is very complex. I think this book cannot only help recruiters, but also show those looking for work the “behind the scenes” efforts expended in their service. I love how passionate and dedicated he is about the topic. Although it’s very niche, I stayed interested throughout. This is a quick listen that is definitely worth your time.
