About this listen
He’s tasted the thrill of war in the skies. He can’t stay grounded now.
From the award-winning author of the bestselling Journeyman Chronicles of the American Revolution comes Frank A. Mason’s gripping new WWII aviation saga that blends heart-pounding combat with unforgettable characters.
Trip Gibson thought he left the war behind in Spain. Now back at Georgia Tech, he’s trying to live a normal life of football games, women, and fast cars…but the headlines from Europe are getting harder to ignore. When the siren call of the skies pulls him in again, Trip risks everything to chase freedom, glory, and something he can’t quite name.
Trip must avoid arrest by his own government, cross the U-boat-infested waters of the North Atlantic, and navigate the politics of France as he makes his way into a foreign war that doesn’t want him... yet. Once behind the stick of the world’s most powerful fighter planes, he’ll face seasoned enemy pilots, harsh skies, and the terrifying reality of combat. And every flight could be his last.
The war is just beginning. His closest friends might not make it home. And the girl he left behind may never see him again.
Will Trip survive the crucible of aerial warfare or will he be consumed by it?
A powerful historical adventure for fans of W.E.B. Griffin, Jack Higgins, and Ken Follett’s WWII sagas.

If AI is the future of Audible then it has NONE
Mediocre book terrible narration. The AI can't pronounce words right and there are gaps in the narration every where at least in the 1 hour was able to listen to. I marked it finished to get it out of the way of good books by GOOD REAL narrators.

Interesting Story. AI Narrator is aweful
The story is interesting, of a well-to-do protagonist as he makes his way to England, to join the RAF, as the Germans move through Poland and into France. The computer-voice is rather irrating, though, as the phrasing is often very odd, voice inflections are frequently at odd places in sentences, and technical aviation terms are misprounced (especially for numbers and aircraft models/variants). However, the computer-voice story is free through Auudible; so, I guess that I really can't complain too much. One usually gets what one pays for...

Ai narration sucks
Change the title to “how to ruin a book with Ai narration” but it’s not even a good story.
