About this listen

After Maureen Coleman is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, her children bring her to live at Summerhome. As her condition deteriorates, siblings Sean Spencer and Meghan Coleman are unsure if they have made the correct decision. They grow concerned when their mother claims to see the ghost of her dead husband, and a series of tragic, unexplained events impact the community. Now, with the residents of Summerhome believing their complex is haunted, the world-famous Para-Hunters come in to investigate. The ghost hunters soon learn this isn't a typical haunting. Slinking through the shadows is an evil unleashed from underneath the Mound nearly 300 years ago, and it doesn't want to go back.

This is a great story. I love supernatural stories where the creepier, the better. I even enjoy a great narrator, because the narrator can make or break a really good book. She's a great narrator. My one problem with this is, the production of it. Less treble and a little more base would make it sound less tinny. That's my one problem with it. This story had me thinking about if I ever have to live in an assisted living home, I don't know that I want to after reading this. The creep factor is real, And this would give anybody pause when facing being moved to a facility. If you enjoy supernatural books that involve ghosts, demons, witches, or the Fae, not telling you which is involved, you'll love this.

Love the story and the narrator, but…

Thank You to the Thomas R Clarke and Cheryl May

This novel is my first time reading this author
I thought this book was very entertaining even though Oh that Smell which was throughout the whole book. There were parts that were funny to break up the tension. Loved the Gore with a bam of Spice added. I will definitely be reading more of this author.

This is Extreme Horror with a Touch of Class Added.

Was so much more than I anticipated. I think it’s worth another listen to try to catch things I missed.

What a thrill ride of emotion! The level of detail and adventure that brought this story to life both made me want to stop from fear of nightmares but keep going because I NEEDED to know how it ended! Not for the faint of heart

A haunted warehouse, witches, horny old folks, fairies and a cat! I would consider this a truly unique horror story. It held my attention the entire time.

SummerHome was a creative, fun folk horror! While I am not much into graphic gross-out content, I found some of it quite funny in the midst of all the horrific chaos happening at the old folks home.

I enjoyed the time jumps and blending of horrors from centuries ago in a different country tying into modern times with whatever the Para-Hunters ‘thought’ they were getting themselves into!

It was a fun audiobook that Cheryl May did a wonderful job narrating. Overall, an incredibly enjoyable experience!

A horrific, fun ride!
