About this listen
Samantha Brooks assumed the hardest things she'd have to face in life were college exams and her slowly fracturing family. Then her father found the world's most powerful magic in his silverware drawer. Forcibly relocated to the secret elven capitol city of Evitankari, Roger Brooks bravely faced down the manipulative Witch and an ancient demon lord and miraculously came out on top. The aftermath of that battle has left the elven government in ruins and the Brooks family in great danger. With few allies and even fewer friends, Roger turns to the only person he knows he can count on: his daughter. As Samantha tries to make sense of her new life in Evitankari and the shadowy forces swirling around her father, she finds herself facing down the real life inspirations for the characters in her favorite novel series. Are they friend or foe? The truth, as they say, is always so much stranger than fiction.

Humans meet magic
I was a little confused through the whole book, but I think that is because this is book 4 and it is all I know of the series. I liked the girls interactions with the elves, and the tree.

EVERY BOOK GETS BETTER!!!
This book really picks up where Shotgun left off. Book 3 was fun; DON'T SKIP IT; but not necessary for this one. Here, we see Roger's daughter Samantha teaming up with him (because he can't trust anyone else!) to investigate some really shady deals. Once again, it's hard to know who the real bad guys are! The narrator carries you through effortlessly, with emotion and humor and so many great characters! And the whole thing about Samantha's teen novel heroes being actual real people? Genius.

Not the end
I initially thought this will be the last book of the series but I was wrong /and I also didn't check, this is just the last released book so far/. The story continues in Evitankari, reveals a few secrets and schemes but generally serves as a connecting book, setting up a more concise continuation with the previous books serving as plot backgrounds from different characters that probably will mash up in the future book(s). I hope the next one comes out soon 😊 The story is definitely far from over and it would be unwise to wrap it up fast.

Fantastic Story
If you have read or listened to Shotgun this story picks up where it left off and it is amazing to say the least. I won't give away any spoilers but you will not be able to turn it off. Mr. Bishop did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. This is my honest and unbiased review that I am leaving here.

Time to rebuild
Scott Cobly wrote a humorous urban fantasy novel. Jason L. Bishop did an amazing job on the narration. He makes the story come to life. It’s entertaining, interesting, engaging, and I love it. I find each story funny. This book starts where Shotgun left off. A lot has happened and will happen.
