Story
Willy and Marianne’s farmhouse in Maine has acres of meadow and fresh air, and a lonesome bridle path in the forest along which Willy daydreams and ambles. When he’s loaned a decrepit old baby stroller to cart his groceries home, the rickety squeak of the wheels comforts him. So do the sweet coos of a baby Willy knows can’t be real. Can it? It’s the mid-'90s. Grunge and flannel are fading as the Spice Girls and Hot Topic conquer the malls. Cherry gloss glistens on the lips of the youth. Modems hiss as America comes online. Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket in all that time. But a Black man with cops at the door knows to be afraid. The last thing he expects to hear is that his son Isiah has been murdered, along with Isiah’s white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss. Strange Tales of the Macabre
An interesting collection of short horror stories. The author gives listeners a nice variety of subjects and levels of horror in this book. Each story is well written and has different reasons why it will grab your attention. There is something for everyone in these stories from demons to zombies and everything in between. I was quickly immersed in each story and its character’s. The plots move at a good pace and kept me entertained to the end. It was a nice touch that the author added a bit about each book at the end of this collection. I always find it interesting to see the thought or ideas that bring things to life. Narrator Sean Cordy does a nice job of pulling the listener into these worlds.

Dark Comedic Horror
Strange Tales of the Macabre are dark and humorous stories that will either terrify you or make you laugh out loud. I enjoyed most of the tales in this book. I would not consider this book just horror, but more like comedic horror. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the story to life with good comedic timing and voicing multiple characters.

A great collection of stories
Of course when you have a collection of stories, some will be better than others. I enjoyed all of the stories in this collection. I think that the narrator did a great job overall. There were a wide range of characters to try and narrate. I was impressed.
