About this listen
Dick Foth can’t stop telling stories. He's been making sense of life through story since he first realized words could become sentences. Now, after eight decades, friends have finally convinced Foth to record the stories he loves to tell in the way he loves to tell them: to a live audience. Stories I Love to Tell became a reality one evening at the Capital Turnaround in Washington, D.C.—a setting for some of Foth’s greatest adventures. And now you are invited into the audience, to find reasons for hope, courage to face hard things, and stories that bring us back together. Our brains are wired for and by story. Memories live in stories; relationships flourish there; identity is shaped there. Values ripen, and belonging is found across generations—around campfires and dinner tables—when moments turn into stories.
Why listen to someone else’s stories? If it’s true that every human being somehow reflects God—and Foth believes it is—then maybe stories are the mirrors between every family, tribe, and person on planet Earth. In other words, it’s our stories that give our relationships a chance.Foth especially loves childhood stories, “because when I tell a story from my childhood, it reveals who I am. It is the lens through which I see my world.” As you listen to Stories I Love to Tell, you will see your own world more clearly. You will find yourself thinking, dreaming, and even feeling like a child again. There will be greater heroes to follow, deeper joys to discover, and even more of yourself to see. Foth’s low, kind, and rumbling voice constantly reminds us of the people who care for us, cheer us on, and—almost without our knowing it—become the heroes of the stories we, too, will love to tell. Enjoy!

Story
In a shallow light-speed world, how can we really know and be known by another person? How do we make true friends? The Digital Age is all about change, but the need for true friendship never changes. We are designed for real engagement with others - for affirmation that goes beyond a simple "like" on social media, for connection over meals, for hope and excitement about the future. Above all, we need to be known and accepted for who we are.

Story
Think you’ve never experienced a miracle? With all due respect, you have never not. In fact, you are one! There never has been—and there never will be—anyone else like you. That isn’t a testament to you. It’s a testament to the God who created you. Your fingerprint, eyeprint, and voiceprint are unlike anyone else’s. Simply put, you matter to God. Most of us take everyday miracles for granted, including the one that stares back at us in the mirror. It’s time to take them for gratitude. Why is that so important? Because whatever you don’t turn into praise turns into pride.

Story
Modern culture is increasingly outspoken against a biblical understanding of what it means to be a woman. Even some Christians, swayed by the LGBTQ+ movement, have rejected God’s word on issues of sexuality and gender in favor of popular opinion. In light of these pressures, it’s more important than ever to help women see the truth about who God created them to be. In this powerful book, Rosaria Butterfield uses Scripture to confront 5 common lies about sexuality, faith, feminism, gender roles, and modesty often promoted in our secular culture today.

Story
Chase the Lion is more than a catch phrase; it’s a radically different approach to life. It’s only when we stop fearing failure that we can fully seize opportunity by the mane. With grit and gusto, New York Times best-selling author Mark Batterson delivers a bold message to everyone with a big dream. This is a wake-up call to stop living as if the purpose of life was to simply arrive safely at death. Our dreams should scare us. They should be so big that without God they would be impossible to achieve.

Foth is a secret superhero!
This collection is replete with shorter stories all telling Foth’s glory story! He’d never toot his own horn. However, in tooting the horn in honor of others, we get a sneak peek at his superhero cape!

Just love Dick's storires
Dick is and has been one of our favorite story tellers. We love listening to him and are always disappointed when the story time ends. He brings a lot of broad perspective to the subjects he talks about and leaves you more enlightened and more importantly, encouraged.

Foth is the best
Incredible collection of stories by one of the best storytellers I've ever heard. If you are fortunate enough to hear Dick Foth speak in person (as I have many times), you'll invariably come away feeling loved, inspired, and full of hope. If not, listening to this audiobook is the next best thing.

Joy and Inspiration! 10/10 recommend
"Why would I want to be in a category? I'm an individual created by the most high God and if you take time to hear my story we could be friends."
Listening to people's stories is what helps us know them and that is exactly what Dick Foth has done with his life. We see that so well through these stories he tells. His love for people and for story is evident in this 2 hour audiobook. He is funny, inspiring and has the ability to make you feel like you're just sitting in his living room hanging out. I have had the privilege of hearing many of these stories before but I would listen to them over and over (and probably will). Foth's example to love people well is one I will always aspire too!

Inspiring, funny, emotional
Dick Foth is perhaps my favorite speaker of all time. As intelligent and accomplished as he is, there is a rich humility and folksy charm he possesses that is genuine and rare. Listening to him took me back decades when I was blessed to regularly hear him speak. He makes the dying art of storytelling seem so easy, but also demonstrates the significance of storytelling. One need not be as gifted as he is, but we all need to learn to ask good questions and listen to others in order to develop relationships, to learn, and to grow. I see the tenderness of God when I listen to these stories.
