Stoicism - Understanding and Practicing the Philosophy of the Stoics
“It is the power of the mind to be unconquerable.” (Seneca, The Stoic Philosophy of Seneca: Essays and Letters)
What does it mean to be “unconquerable?”
Becoming unconquerable has nothing to do with forming an army or strengthening your muscles. In fact, it has nothing to do with anything physical at all. It’s about changing how you view the world and your part in it.
You become unconquerable when you learn how to deal with the curveballs of life. How do you find joy in your darkest hour? How do you feel rich when you have nothing? The answers are in this audiobook.
You won’t find these teachings in today’s schools, but this is exactly what the ancient philosophers were teaching. Events outside of your control should have no impact on your joy, happiness, peace, or confidence. If these things are going to happen anyway, why not turn them into positive events?
Instead of always being the victim, turn yourself into the victor. All it takes is a shift in perspective, and that’s what Stoicism is all about.
The timeless wisdom of the Stoics can help anyone find inner peace and joy and Stoicism - Understanding and Practicing the Philosophy of the Stoics is the perfect starting point.
Stoicism - Purpose and Perspectives
We live in a fast-paced world that has come to characterize the 21st century. We are bombarded with constant distractions, and silence has all but vanished from our daily schedule and practice. We are collectively exhausted, but we don’t really realize it. The exhaustion manifests in sicknesses we can’t identify, and if we can, it’s something we can’t pronounce. We batter ourselves against the daily onslaught that has become our lives.
We all need a break, and we all need answers on how to stop this fast-moving wreck in motion. The answer, it turns out, has been in front of us all along and within us even longer. The Stoics figured it out two and a half millennia ago and practiced it with great results. Maybe it can help us now, too.
Stoicism has two aspects - the theory and the academics of it and wanting to read the texts that fall into that category is a good thing, but this is not that. This book is about how one practices Stoicism in their daily life here and now. It is for this century, this decade.
Is the solution here? No. The solution is within each of us. What you will find here, though, is the way to extract the solution that is already within you. It’s as simple as that.
What are you waiting for? If you’re looking for true, unbreakable joy and strength, scroll up and click the Buy Now button to get started!

Plumbing the wisdom of one of the most popular and successful schools of thought from ancient Rome, philosopher William B. Irvine teaches us to turn any challenge on its head. The Stoic Challenge, then, is the ultimate guide to improving your quality of life through tactics developed by ancient Stoics, from Marcus Aurelius and Seneca to Epictetus.

Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: Instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others.

Grab some daily wisdom
Kyle Faber takes the wisdom of the Stoics and wraps it up into several daily reflections. I’ve gone through t twice so far and have found different nuggets each time I’ve listen it. Perfect for a student or a business person like myself looking to gain daily wisdom through Stoic philosophy. A nice follow up to his other books on stoicism.

Interesting quotes and reflections
I use this as daily inspiration to write. It gets me thinking about what is happening in my life or in the world and sometimes alters my perspective in a positive way. It is different from most daily quote books because the quotes are from so long ago, but they still are almost always relevant to today.

Great Daily listen
Like any daily book, this one is best enjoyed one day at a time. There's enough to chew on each day to make it worth it, though if you aren't at least somewhat familiar with Stoicism it might come across as fragmented. I view that as the double edge of the form rather than any fault of the author's.

Right time and in the right way
This book brought me back to listening the classics after decades away. It's a great way to reframe the day and focus on what matters. It's not "law of attraction"/"The Secret"/don't sweat the small stuff pablum. It's about thinking, mindfully about how to do the right things at the right time and in the right way.
