About this listen
My name is Harry and i was left Stepping Stones house by Tom Forrester. I didn't know him as
such, but i had written to him as part of a school assignment. I didn't inherit everything outright.
I had to take out a loan to pay off outstanding debts and taxes.
Some thought I would just sell the estate on, but Jo and I decided that we wanted to bring the
house and gardens back to their former glory. It had been allowed to get into a very poor state.
In the basement we discovered 2 secret rooms, which contained an old still and a rack full of bottles
of what turns out to be antique whisky. The sale of these allows us to start our work to turn the house
into a respite house for ex servicemen.
The gardens are brought back into use and we build a new building for the distillery. Everything we do
is being guided by Donald Forrester, who had started the whisky making process at Stepping Stones.
He guides us to things that allow us to understand why the house and gardens have been allowed
to fall into disrepair.
Book 3 ties up the loose ends; the parts that we haven't got round to discovering along with where we
are at as we near the end of Covid 19
