About this listen

Ever since we found the two Outcasts, it's been my goal to get them to join our beach tribe. Handsome, impossible Juth has resisted all my efforts to recruit him and his small son. He's made it very clear that he doesn't belong with us.

But when I'm trapped at Juth's side as the beach is invaded by monsters, everything changes. He talks to me instead of pointedly ignoring me. We become friends. Heck, we even share a few stolen kisses. And when the rescue party arrives, he announces to everyone that I'm his mate and he's joining the tribe.

Which is great except . . . I never agreed to anything? If I point out I'm not Juth's mate, he'll pack up and leave with his son. He sure won't give me more of those toe-curling kisses or touch me like it's the greatest thing that's ever happened to him.

So . . . I guess I'm mated? Because I'm not sure I can give any of that—or Juth—up.

Contains mature themes.

I'm glad I finally got it. The connection to O'jek makes sense and I'm glad it came with a full explanation. Pak is absolutely the CUTEST!!! And I'm glad Juth and Steph finally resonated. They're perfect for each other.

4.5 stars

I've been waiting for this story . . .

One of my favorite series

I wasn't sure how to rate this but the overall story with the tribe helped this book earn four stars.

The FMC is somewhat annoying. I don't like how she just allows things to happen to her instead of taking charge of her life. The MMC tells others they are mates and she just goes along with it because she's afraid he won't join the tribe if she corrects him. She likes him though and continues to kiss him and fool around. Not only is this just being passive but she also is leading the MMC on. She ended up developing deeper feelings, but what if she hadn't? She would have broken his heart eventually and it would have been because she didn't correct his assumption at the appropriate time to do so.

The MMC, Pak and Daisy really save this book for me. I enjoyed the MMC and Pak assimilating into life with the tribe. I got tearful when the MMC and Pak temporarily left because their despair was palpable. I also enjoyed how different Daisy is from everyone else. I understand she is viewed as not pulling her weight but she is a ray of sunshine with her attitude and I think that's needed in the tribe. She also was great with Pak. I don't know why they don't see that Daisy can be a babysitter/ child care worker while others get tasks completed. That's a legit job, especially in a growing tribe. It should be her role.

I liked how the MMC and his brother made steps toward having a relationship. The MMC and Pak's life has been so difficult and it's sad to think about how they've lived alone and had only each other to depend on for so long. I give this book four stars for pretty much everything about this book apart from the love story. The love story was just okay. It was frustrating to read how all in the MMC was from the beginning and then when you get to the FMC's inner monologue, she's wishy washy and just having fun. When she developed deeper feelings, I couldn't help but think, "but what if you didn't? Don't you think it's pretty crappy of you that you were going to break his heart if you didn't?"

I wish that it didn't take so long for this audiobook to come out. I realized as it started that I didn't remember a good number of the characters, specifically, the other unmated females. It took me a bit to remember everyone, but one I had them sorted the story was easy to follow. A lot happens to Icehome in this book, from beach to babies, so I think just that alone makes it a pretty important book in the series. Big changes to the group.

As for Steph's story, I think it was pretty good and grounded in trying to show how life experiences shape our approach to life events. Romance was sincere and I'm glad it was driven by their wants and love for the HEA.

Great addition to the series

oh lord, I didn't know I would ever heard some dirty talk like what is in this book. Swoon, swoon swoon. I gasped and had me making music play lists, 'Take care of business,' by Nina Simone, 'here comes the rain again', by the eurythmics, and lastly no ordinary love', by Sade.

the book is good 🔥 I bought it and the Kindle. I have decided we need more sexy single father's like Juth. I am on the hunt now for more big daddy books.

huge fan of ruby but this one 10 stars 🌟 just damn lol. lord have mercy.

Love how every couple are match up perfectly to their needs and handicaps. If we all could find our person that matches us perfectly that way.

I like the way the storyline moves forward with a different scenario with each book. Entertaining and interesting with a sprinkle of humor. Narrators are great. On to the next book.

Pretty Good

I enjoyed all of the things that happened in this book. I liked hearing Juth's (and Pac's) story. I like Steph, but found her obsession with trying to force everyone to do therapy sessions with her annoying. That is what made me rate the story lower. Her determination to dig into everyone's personal business and feelings made me feel uncomfortable. Interactions with Daisy made me wish that the females of the tribe had confronted her and maybe cut her off unless she actually did something useful. If I had been Steph when Daisy asked me to dig out the snail while saying she couldn't help lest she get her finger nails dirty I would have taken a handful of sand and rubbed it into her hair and maybe her face. I guess I'm just not very understanding.

Narration was OK, but I really miss the narrators from the IPB series. These two kinda make the Sakhui sound like simpletons.
