About this listen

A simply superlative spine-tingling horror anthology from the very best minds in the business!

We decided upon the shopping list theme for this particular volume of horror short stories as an antithesis to those wildly successful writers (they know who they are) of whom it is often said "we would read their shopping list if they published it!"

Well, we have given 21 of the hottest new horror authors in the independent scene the unique opportunity to have their own shopping lists listened to by you - along with their most terrifying tales, of course!

Stories of gut-wrenching terror from: Kathy Dinisi, Robert Over, Christopher O’Halloran, Eric W. Burgin, Russ Gartz, Mark Slada, Jeff Baker, Tim Miller, Nick Swain, JC Raye, Jovan Jones, Ben Stevens, David F. Gray, Brandon Cracraft, M.S. Swift, Kevin Holton, David Owain Hughes, Bertram Allan Mullin, Jeff C. Stevenson, Sebastian Crow. and S.E. Rise

I really liked this group of stories, except Three of them which I didn't find worth while, only 3 out of 21 is pretty damn good, every story besides was awesome, and some were even genuinely scary, but all around the kind of horror I can say floats my boat.... Now, about the narrator: heh heh, he was terrible, and I don't know if he is British but I suspect so as he didn't know how to say many American things, mispronounced a lot of words and did a rather piss poor job of everything, especially setting the tone, would have been much better with a different narrator. He tries to make vegetable and lunch meat sound tantalizing, but never makes scary scenarios sound, well, scary....... so, very cool book well worth a credit, with a whole variety of many stories and good authors, if you can mentally separate from the terrible narration!!!

A very entertaining anthology

I liked almost all the stories. The author's shopping list as a prologue to their story was fun and different. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to tolerate the narrator because I couldn't stand his introduction but he grew on me. My only suggestion for Gareth is to stop doing American Southern accents, very bad. I have already listened to this anthology twice.

Thouroughly Enjoyable!

SHOPPING LIST : A HORROR ANTHOLOGY BY MITCH WORKMAN AND NARRATION BY GARETH RICHARDS is a compilation of not so well know authors. Each story, filled with horror and some pretty creepy characters. The author of the book came up with the title when thinking about the old adage that famous authors have their devoted followers and those readers would even read their shopping list !
I found some of the stories so so in the creepy department but, most are really good. Not only creepy but some add just a touch of twisted humor into them. Gareth, Richards, the narrator did a great job, hats off to Mr Richards! Readers who are into the Horror genre should keep an eye on the authors in SHOPPING LIST. Maybe someday, reading their SHOPPING LIST will become the norm among horror fans!

Like with all collections there were some real gems and some that were just OK
The narration was good but didn’t seem to fit the stories
Overall worth giving a listen
