About this listen
Four different women. One common shoe size. And a shared lust for fabulous footwear. In this sparkling novel, the wife of a controlling politician, a debt-ridden eBay addict, an agoraphobic phone sex operator, and a nanny for the family from hell (who barely knows a sole from a heel but who will do anything to get out of the house) meet Tuesday nights to trade shoes, and, in the process, form friendships that will help them each triumph over their problems—from secret pasts to blackmail, bankruptcy, and dating. Funny, emotional, and powerful, Shoe Addicts Anonymous is the perfect summer listen.

Margo Everson sees the call out for the cookbook club and knows she’s found her people. Recently dumped by her self-absorbed husband, who frankly isn’t much of a loss, she has little to show for her marriage but his "parting gift"—a dilapidated old farm house—and a collection of well-loved cookbooks. Aja Alexander just hopes her newfound friends won’t notice that that every time she looks at food, she gets queasy. It’s hard hiding a pregnancy, especially one she can’t bring herself to share with her wealthy boyfriend and his snooty mother.

Meet Prinny, Chelsea, and Diana. Prinny is the owner of Cosmos, a shop that sells crystals, potions, candles, and hope. It's also a place where no one turns down a little extra-special cocktail that can work as a romance potion or heal a broken heart. But Prinny is in love with her married lawyer, and she'll need nothing short of magic to forget about him. Chelsea works as a living statue at tourist sites around Washington, DC. It's a thankless job, but it helps pay the rent. That and her part-time job at Cosmos.

Nice, Enjoyable!
It's an easy listen, four women and their shoe addiction. Believeble enough. The stories come together nicely and interestingly at first and problems are fixed with a nice tidy bow at the end. The narrator is fantastic. She's the reason I chose the book. Will read more from this author just for the narrator!

was okay
This book follows the lives of different women being lovers of trendy shoes that meet up weekly to discuss their lives and of course shoes! I thought the book would be more fun and engrossing than it was, it was an okay read, but certainly not a book that you are not wanting to put down. The book is very slow and you don't really feel or care for any of the characters.

Chic Lit with character development
I enjoyed this book because the characters are not outrageous stereotypes. These women are more like you and me than is the norm in Chic Lit. The characters change and grow throughout the book and they do not depend (too much) on men rescuing them from their troubles. I loved getting to know these women and cheered for them when they changed their lives for the better. I also love shoes, which predisposed me to like this novel. This book is slower paced than you might be used to for this genre, but give these characters a chance and they will win you over with their regular gal charms.

SO fun. All the girls from all walks of life have one thing in common their love of shoes and lack of friends. There is just enough background of each character that you get to know and enjoy their participation in the story. I loved this book.

a cute listen
It kept me entertained for the most part. Did it keep me running longer because I couldn't stop listenting to it, no. But there are very few books that do that for me.
It took about 15 minutes to get going but I liked how it was about 4 different women so I liked the 4 different point of views.
I liked the narrator.

Interesting characters
Overall, an enjoyable story with four interesting characters with very different backgrounds coming together. I thought the author did a nice job developing these characters with entertaining storylines.
The narrator was just okay, a bit robotic at times though.
