About this listen
Meet Charlotte “Coco” Brunhild. Parisian detective. Single mother of four. Nemesis of her superiors, Sept Jours. A fast-paced murder investigation set over the duration of one week.
After a traumatizing event in her apartment building, Coco is thrown headlong into a complicated investigation which leads her to an exclusive boarding school on the outskirts of Paris. When a student mysteriously disappears, Coco suspects foul play, but the investigation is hampered by lying students, deceitful teachers, and a potentially corrupt police officer. She must race against time to catch a deadly killer before they strike again.
The first in a new series of Paris set adventures from the author of the Hugo Duchamp Investigates series of books.

Story
Loyalty. Duty. Deceit. I never imagined my first trip to Italy would be to bury my father. But there I stood, alone in the ancient cathedral with my father’s casket, a handful of soldiers standing guard. It never occurred to me that anyone would disrupt the sanctity of the moment. But the Caballero brothers have little regard for the church and even less for my family. They marched in, weapons in hand, and turned my world upside down.

Story
Cyril Avery is not a real Avery - or at least that's what his adoptive parents tell him. And he never will be. But if he isn't a real Avery, then who is he? Born out of wedlock to a teenage girl cast out from her rural Irish community and adopted by a well-to-do if eccentric Dublin couple via the intervention of a hunchbacked Redemptorist nun, Cyril is adrift in the world, anchored only tenuously by his heartfelt friendship with the infinitely more glamourous and dangerous Julian Woodbead.

1915. In German-occupied Belgium, a tragic loss forces Josephine Descharmes to navigate dangerous new territory. By day it’s compliance, serving German officers at the Hotel Métropole. Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

Story
I have no memory of what happened, but I was told I killed my son. And you believe what your loved ones, your doctor, and the police tell you, don't you? My name is Emma Cartwright. Three years ago I was Susan Webster, and I murdered my 12-week-old son, Dylan. I was sent to Oakdale Psychiatric Institute for my crime, and four weeks ago I was released early on parole with a new identity and address and a chance to rebuild my tattered life. This morning I received an envelope addressed to Susan Webster. Inside it was a photograph of a toddler called Dylan.

It's even better than I thought.
I loved the Hugo Duchamps series by G.N. Hetherington so I was very eager to listen to this book. The story is excellent and the performance is first rate. Katy Anna Harris had so many voices and she really helped to sell the story. I did have to concentrate at times but I was very happy to do this.
Sept Jours is highly recommended
