About this listen

Being blind doesn’t stop 17-year-old Jenny Ryan from going after what she wants. Journalism byline? Horse sports? Rock climbing? No problem. Meet Liam O’Shannon, front man for hard-rocking Irish band (also named) O’Shannon? Jenny’s got a plan for that, too.

She’s already landed a backstage pass for the Portland tour stop where she hopes to interview her idol for a write-up in her school paper. Instead, she finds herself in an unexpected convo with the band’s junior publicist, Jamie Conway. Not exactly her dream. But Jamie is sweet and thoughtful and later offers to arrange an interview for her with Liam.

Throughout O’Shannon’s tour, Jamie and Jenny stay in touch, and their long-distance friendship deepens into something that challenges Liam’s place in her heart. But Jamie is keeping a secret; one that will shatter the growing trust between them and force her to question everything she knows about him—and what it truly means to love someone.

I loved everything about this book, from the romance to the drama to the descriptions from a blind perspective. This story was SO well-written and I hugged it to my chest when it was over because it gave me that perfectly satisfied feeling of everything turning out how it should (even after the emotional rollercoaster it put me through!).

Jenny's character was so absolutely flawless. She was truly a teenage girl, through and through! One that was relatable and made mistakes and worked through them in a healthy way, with the help of a fantastic support system (shout-out to Dad and Brian!). She had a good head on her shoulders and her charactistics were truly shown to us and not told, making her that much more real.

Now, don't even get me started on the love interest! He was wonderful! Yes, he also made mistakes, but wow. I couldn't stay made at him for even a minute.

One of the best things about this story was reading the insights into the daily life of someone who is blind. I hadn't thought about how a blind person would chop vegetables, or get through an evening of homework, but now I have a much better idea of how people adapt and it's amazing! I have such respect for their resilience.

I loved this story and I will definitely read it again, a long with everything Cheryl Wanner writes in the future!

A New Favorite!

This story is fun, and insightful! It has the reader seeing the world from a blind persons point of view with all that that entails. Story was very well written and I hope for a sequel!! Couldn’t stop listening to it!

Insightful!

A very sweet story and a fairy tale in its own right that gives you all the warm fuzzies a clean romance novel should be. If you have a young adult who likes romance this is a good one. :)

I adored this book, start to finish. The "secret" the love interest had was obvious from the beginning, but in the very best way, setting up all kinds of tension between what the reader knew and what the character knew. I waited anxiously for the moment she figured it out and the story delivered on every bit of romance and drama promised! The unrealistic aspects of the plot were handled very well, primarily because the character herself was so well-written and believable. The audiobook narrator had an excellent Irish accent when needed (not that I'm a great judge of that) though I did kinda laugh at the "British" accent that wasn't very British (probably the only issue I had with the narration at all, and it was well made up for by the flawless-seeming Gaelic!)
I think I still would have loved this had I read it in print, but the audiobook definitely took it to a whole new level!

Absolutely Absorbing to Listen to!
