About this listen
Could there be a better setting for a movie than Chancey, Georgia?
October arrives with Carolina holding way too many secrets...or you could say not holding them exactly. The town has barely gotten over the loss of their patriarch F.M. when one of the most stable marriages around is on the rocks, maybe completely over the cliff. Then the movie people hit town, and they don’t seem to be helping.
Also, Missus is sneaking around when most feel she should still be grieving. She couldn’t already have a boyfriend - could she? Too many secrets. Too many questions.
Sounds like one of those made-for-TV movies, doesn’t it?

Story
Jewel Mantelle has never lived in the South, much less on the coast, so moving from Chicagoland to the historic North Florida coastal town of Sophia Island seems like just the adventure to fix her marriage. However, when she arrives, she finds that it’s awfully hot and humid there and that these Southern folks really like to hug. Her husband’s past on the island includes a creaky old house in the historic district and lots of nosy relatives he’d forgotten to mention.

Bailey is a young, aspiring actress that has never had a real acting job besides a role in a high school play. But when she sees an ad for a production that takes place in 1954, she decides to take a chance. The only thing she knows is that it is fully immersive, and would require her to live in the fictional town for one full year. Another Great Installment
This book starts out surprisingly somber, but once you begin chapter one it is all Chancey. There are so many surprises and secrets revealed as you delve into the story. It’s the epitome of small town drama. Just can get enough.

Hold on tight so you don't miss a second
When people say you can't make this stuff up, well.... This is hilarious to think a small town could keep secrets. They spread like a wildfire! The hookups rekindled relationships, new ones. and breakups continues at the speed of lightening, and fuel the small time fires and fan the flames of old one back to life. Carolina just lets it happen around her, then gets blamed for it until the truth comes out. Wth??? I look forward to more. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.
