Large Florida land grants under the British and Second Spanish periods brought men of enterprise. Families such as Dupont, Russell, Bulow, Pellicer, Fish, Graham and Hernandez ventured here to set their roots in the rich hammock soil of Flagler County between St. Augustine and Ormond Beach Florida. Their plantations were part of a world wide industrial revolution a little known part of Florida's early history.
