About this listen
Ever and Cade.
Sorry I vanished like I did. I'm not sure I can even explain things. I don't know when I'll be back. If I'll be back. I'm not sure of anything, except that I love you, Ever. You're my twin, my best friend, and leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever done. I know you don't understand. Maybe you never will. I hope you don't, honestly. It would be easier that way. That's cowardly, I'm sure. Cade, take care of her. Love her, the way she deserves. The way you always have, for forever and always. If I could ask you anything, it's that you remember me as I was, and forget me as I am. I'm sorry, and goodbye, and I love you.

It was just supposed to be just a 40th birthday prank for our boss after a wild night of girlfriends, laughter, and a lot of margaritas. When we placed the ad in the newspaper, we never thought anyone would actually answer it. We also didn't think that Laurel would be so brainless as to put Lizzy's actual phone number in the ad....

Story
So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it simple, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again. Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger.

Story
One year ago, I buried my husband. One year ago, I held his hand and said goodbye. Now I spend most of my days lost somewhere between trying to remember every smallest detail of our lives, and trying to forget it all. I fill my hours with work until I’m too exhausted to remember him, to feel anything at all. One year, 365 days - and then one knock at my door changes everything. A letter from him, a last request, a secret will: My dearest Nadia, trust me, my love. One last time, trust me. Sometimes the epilogue to one story is the beginning of another.

Story
Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, right? That's what they say, at least. I went into that day hoping I'd get the happiest day of my life. What I got? The worst. I mean, you really can't get any worse of a day without someone actually dying. So...I may have gotten just a little drunk, and maybe just a tad impetuous...and landed myself in a dive bar somewhere in Alaska, alone, still in my wedding dress, half wasted and heartbroken.

In the morning, she was gone and had taken my solace with her. I left for the military that day, vowing never to return to Pennsylvania. When my father dies, I’m forced to go home to bury him. At least I'll finally be rid of his farm, which is grown over and tangled with memories I've fought to forget. And that’s when I find her. She’s even more beautiful than I remember and has the most adorable kid I’ve ever seen. Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this time I refuse to let her go. They say you can't bury the past, and they're right.

Last One
This was an enjoyable trilogy. Do not read/listen to this book if you have not heard the first two in the series. It matters. There were some awkward moments in this one where it took a moment to figure out what time the couples were in( the book covers a long period of time and goes back and forth with different characters in different times). I think it would have been helpful if when the narrators said which character's perspective they were reading they also gave a date or time period. Overall though this was a good series with good narrators.

Strong Finish
This, the third book in the Ever trilogy finishes the series strong. For the first time Eden becomes a featured entity as she runs away in order to escape the fallout she knows will come; due to the whole sleeping with her twin's husband and becoming pregnant thing. So she does her best to come to terms being pregnant by her brother-in-law, finding herself in the solitude plus finding love on the upper peninsula.
This book has some flaws, some over-the-top scenes and of course, a lot of drama. More importantly it also contains a series of poignant moments; the introduction of a wonderful family that differs from those of the previous books main characters. The climax of this audiobook is predictable; (at least it was to me) but also quite logical given the characters circumstances.
The flaws; Eden's love interest Carter's transition seems a little too abrupt to take seriously, and given all the circumstances, Eden's continual fear and barely discernible self esteem came off as more than a little ridiculous. I mean given her description of Carter and all he went through with prior to starting a relationship with her, he's obviously not gonna pick up and leave anytime soon. Really taking on being her entire support system during her pregnancy; not to mention doing a $100,000 remodel on her residence for free. I doubt that any 27 year old man would go to those lengths to just to hit it a few times; then drop her and git it.
The extreme dysfunctional nature of Cade and Ever's marriage once she awakens from her long coma would seem to be too shaky to last as it was. Alas the timing of this story line depended on their ability to walk the wire between the past and the truth under that amount of pressure for over six months without losing control at some point.
Those small holes were more than covered by the wit and the depth of the author's prose and her skill in bringing her characters to life. The narrators; particularly Piper Goodeve were great; I really liked the ending. Of more importance, in our mismatched group of four one of the women actually boo-hooed more than I did. After originally giving up far too quickly on book one of the trilogy I fell into the rhythm of book and listened to the next two in less than a week. This was an excellent series and this book is the best of three.

this story, written with love delved into my soul
it is the happily ever after written with passion, romance, family lines that had been drawn in the sand, crossed and yet but what I the most in this series was the fact that family meant so much to this author. I agree in most cases in families there is nothing that can't be unforgivable. It requires taking time to show there is nothing that with love between the people in your family, there truly is nothing that can't be forgiven. I simply adored this story and I truly believe you will too.

A truly perfect series ending novel!
Would you consider the audio edition of Saving Forever to be better than the print version?
I wouldn't say that the audio edition of it was better. It was EQUALLY good. The narrators properly animated this truly perfect series ending tale. I suspect I'll do another re-read via audiobook in the future. It is definitely my favorite book in the trilogy.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Carter was my favorite character. I sympathized with him because of the tragic event that caused him to stop speaking. I love that his early interactions with Eden triggered his desire to change. He saw the value in being Eden's friend and was determined and strong enough to be just that inspite of her insistence that she was not worthy. He is just a compassionate soul that I simply couldn't get enough of in this novel. He is one of the best book boyfriends ever.
What about Piper Goodeve and Gabriel Vaughan ’s performance did you like?
Piper Goodeve just has a flawlessly good narrating style and is one of my favorite narrators. She animates both female and male voices well without ever sounding ridiculous, no easy feat. Overall I liked Gabriel Vaughan even though his ability to sound bored always worries me. He was more consistent in tone on this performance than on his Falling into You performance. So that was a huge relief.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I had the same extreme why did Caden and Eden cross the boundary line reaction that I had before when I read the e-book. The line crossing doesn't occur in this novel, but the ramifications do. I loved that both Ever and Carter loved Caden and Eden enough to forgive them and were able to show compassion where others like myself may not have been able to under the same circumstances. I will always, ALWAYS think that what Caden and Eden did was 100% avoidable. But admittedly, seeing how they both suffered and regretted their actions and how Ever, the most mutually important person in their life, eventually understood, forgave and encouraged all three of them to move forward together was incredible.
Any additional comments?
One of my favorite Carter and Eden moments:
"Eden, everyone deserves friendship and understanding. That's all I'm offering."
"You're sweet."
"So are you."
And this quote below sums up the theme of this novel really well:
'Forgiveness is a choice. And so is love.' Caden

4.75 stars!!
I loved the Ever series. I mostly listened to it, but ended up wanting to know how it finished, so I read the last few chapters.
I got what I wanted! Early on in the third book, I had an idea of how I wanted everything to play out. And exactly what I thought, is what happened. At the risk of being spoilery, everyone makes mistakes, but everyone deserves a chance at happiness too. I'm glad Eden and Ever found theirs.
The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars for me is the time line. It seemed like some sections of each part happened simultaneously, but then a different POV in that part would clearly be a continuing where it had left off. But it didn't take away from the story, my analytical mind just kept trying to rationalize it.
My recommendation...of course read it. But listen to the audible version. These narrators mailed the emotion perfectly!!!

my tear ducts have completely dried up now
from NOLA504NERDS blog
Last week I finished ‘The Ever Trilogy" by Jasinda Wilder, and I haven’t stopped crying since. Let’s start with the first book, Forever & Always. This book takes you by complete surprise. "Forever & Always was joyful, heartbreaking, breathtaking, angsty, hopeful and sexy” (The Book Blog, 2013) "Each page bleeds emotion, heartbreak, tragedy and a deep-seated need for connection. This story is a journey." (Vilma's Book Blog, 2013) I’m trying to find the words to describe this book but can’t come up with anything better than what The Book Blog and Vilma’s Book Blog stated.
It starts out so sweet and innocent. Just 2 young pen pals struggling in their crazy worlds. Both experience things too tragic and sad for teenagers to ever go through. Through their struggles and tragedies, they had each other’s letters for support and guidance. Through the letters, they built a lasting love full of trust and loyalty. The kind of meaningful, significant, and unwavering love that we all long for. The amount of pain these 2 have to go through in life is staggering. Jasinda Wilder does such an incredible job making you feel every ounce of that pain along with Ever and Cade. Your heart breaks for them. Your heart also aches for them to find each other again. You spend most of the book experiencing their growing connection through their letters to each other. It’s magical. When they finally meet again, it’s like everything in the world falls in to place. Life is great again. But the ending.... As much as I love Jasinda Wilder’s writing, I cursed her for hours for nearly giving me a heart attack. I’m so glad the next books were already out because I don’t think I could’ve survived without them. I mean, you kind of knew there would end up being a cliffhanger. But this one was not expected. Jasinda Wilder’s writing style never disappoints. I’d first become obsessed with Jasinda’s stories when I read her Fallen series last year. I didn’t think she could possibly make me feel any more emotional turmoil than I did for that series. Man, was I wrong! Her stories flow so effortlessly. They’re well written, beautiful, emotional, and unforgettable. I full on ugly cried at the end of this book. Not just a few tears. Full on wailing and sobbing in the office bathroom then stuffing my face with strawberry Poptarts and Starbucks. Some people don't like books with tragedies or the reality that comes from such. I think it speaks volumes to what a successful storyteller the author is to make me feel such personal turmoil.
As far as the narrators - This book wouldn't be as emotionally charged if it wasn't for them. They delivered the script with such enthusiasm. They were emotionally connected to the characters and convincingly brought them to life. This audiobook series wouldn't be the same without them.
5 Ugly-Cry Stars!

For the other 2 books in the series: I’m not going to review them because there’s no possible way to do that without major spoilers. I may review them on Goodreads and Amazon though. I will say this… I think people were way too harsh in their reviews. I think sometimes people forget that these are stories and if it were reality it would play out much differently. Books 2 and 3 make you feel confusion and intense anger. Book 2 especially questions your moral compass and sanity. Your mind almost can’t comprehend everything that’s happening in book 2. It screws with your emotions unlike anything I’ve ever read before. To quote another reviewer, “It is also the most at war I have ever been with my morals and my conscience whilst reading a book. I still don't know what to make of my feelings, if I'm honest. I don't know whether I'm okay with the direction this book took. I don't know whether I understand, whether I accept it, whether it's okay or whether it's totally wrong. I know, this all sounds very cryptic... but I just can't give you any more information because you need to experience this all for yourself to have any chance of judging these characters fairly.” (Smitten’s Book Blog, 2013) The thing I highly suggest/recommend that you remember when starting book 2 [without spoiling it] is consider from a medial point of view the logistics here. If this were real life, things would be completely different and the story would’ve ended in the first few chapters. Keep that same mindset as you enter book 3 and appreciate the journey for what it is. I hope you all enjoy this unforgettable trilogy as much as I did.

Great Trilogy, left me wanting more
I really liked listening to the trilogy. Laughed, cried. I had hoped though to hear more of Eden and Carter's life. Crossing fingers for another Jacinda Wilder Audible book starring them.
