About this listen
The lives of the saints demonstrate one of the most powerful ways God draws people to himself, showing us the love and the joy we can find in him. But so often, these saints seem distant, impossibly holy, dull, or unlike us in race, age, and state in life. In Saints Around the World, you'll meet over 100 saints from more than 60 countries, including saints with different disabilities, strengths, and struggles. The captivating storytelling will introduce you and your children to new heavenly friends while also helping you fall more in love with Jesus.
Each story in this book is written not only to capture the imagination, but also to speak about God's tremendous love and our call to be saints. There are stories in Saints Around the World for when you feel like life isn't fair, when people are being unkind to you, when you've made a terrible mistake, when you're struggling at school, and when prayer is hard. And there are stories of shouting down Nazis, fleeing a murderous villain, making scientific discoveries, and smoking a cigar while enemy soldiers amputate your leg.
There are scared saints, brilliant saints, weak saints, adventurous saints, abused saints, overjoyed saints, disabled saints - and the point of every one of them is the love of God. Whether you're checking the map to find saints who look like you or perusing the extensive indices to find saints with your skills or struggles, you'll find countless stories in this book that remind you how very possible holiness is.

These stories are meant to show human and lovable people whose mysterious passion for God led them into preposterous escapades. With an eye on the taste of a child for concrete detail and no apologies for the embroidery of legend, each tale, in a style akin to fairy-tale, sets forth the unique qualities of a Genevieve, a Felix, a Dorothy, or Comgall-16 real saints brought unforgettably to our attention and admiration.

Story
Dr. Greg Bottaro explains how mindfulness can help us become aware of the present moment and accept it. Catholic mindfulness is a way to practically trust God more in our lives. Instead of separating faith from day-to-day life, mindfulness helps bridge the gap so we can feel the sense of safety and peace God intends us to have. Following the exercises in this audiobook, you'll discover how mindfulness can help you be more present to everything in your life from a trip to the grocery store or relaxing with friends to listening more attentively to a homily.

Story
Evelyn Waugh's most celebrated work is a memory drama about the intense entanglement of the narrator, Charles Ryder, with a great Anglo-Catholic family. Written during World War II, the story mourns the passing of the aristocratic world Waugh knew in his youth and vividly recalls the sensuous pleasures denied him by wartime austerities; in so doing it also provides a profound study of the conflict between the demands of religion and the desires of the flesh.

Story
Some say, Catholicism is outdated. It's behind the times. It's boring. They've forgotten our story. It's time to rediscover that there is genius in Catholicism. Christianity has captivated the world for more than 2,000 years. Look a little closer, and you'll see that it is the most dangerous and exciting thing on earth. Catholicism is a game changer. This book looks at the big picture of who God is, what he has revealed to us, and how that will radically impact our lives if we let it.

It was Blessed John Paul II's greatest gift to the Church: the theology of the body. A window into who we are, the theology of the body is a theology for the rooms where we make love. But it's also a theology for the rooms where we work, where we eat, where we laugh, and where we pray. These Beautiful Bones takes you on a walk through those rooms. With both humor and practical wisdom, it sheds light on what the theology of the body has to say about life.

Story
The Story of a Soul conveys St. Therese of Lisieux's "Little Way" of spiritual childhood - her "elevator" to Heaven, as she called it. This method was approved by Pope Pius XI as a way for all to grow in holiness through unfailing confidence and childlike delight in God's merciful love. Again and again in this audiobook, St. Therese shows us how her "Little Way" of love and trust comes straight from Sacred Scripture.

Remarkable!
Even tho the story & narration is intended for a young age group, Meg still did a great job of keeping each Saint's bio fresh..esp. ending with the Blessed Virgin Mary's own bio! Nice touch! Still amazing as to the obscure names that were brought up..& I listen to the Saint of the Day every day! Smh..'job well done my good & faithful servant!'
