Early in the French Revolutionary War, a young British naval officer, Lieutenant Joseph Duncan, finds himself unexpectedly in charge of a powerful frigate. He forms an unlikely friendship with a rash young Marine officer with a murky background. Not a typical book that I normally read. However I was completely pulled into the story and the wonderful characters. The naval battles were well written and it felt like I was on the ship. This book is a wonderful step back into time to a world almost forgotten. I am hopeful that the story will be continued soon.
