Story
Call Hawkins just wants to be left alone and leave the past where it belongs. The bleak beauty of Dead Horse Creek is a perfect place to get away from the world, a place where nothing exists to remind him of everything he's lost. His isolation is complete - until Charity Sinclair arrives fresh from New York City. Stunningly beautiful and stubbornly independent, she's also shamefully ignorant of the untamed wilderness and the very real dangers she'll face if Call doesn't teach her a thing or two.

AI NARRATION is horrific and it killed the overall enjoyment of this title. I love this author but this is killing it for me! I hope this AI trend dies soon!

Interesting story
AI reading of this book was a real downer. No inflection in voice, mispronounced acronyms-SOB was pounced sob (like a cry). Don’t plan on listening to AI books again.

Terrible Virtual voice
Good story line. Hated the virtual voice. Mispronunciations, inappropriate pauses, and bad stating of paired words make this very annoying to listen to. I would have prepreferred reading this . And the abomination of the referrals to 9/11 by saying 9 to eleven over and over is just maddening and disrespectful.

virtual voice is literal buzzkill
Like being romanced by a robot. Story may be good, but couldn't get thru the monotonous narration to find out. Cindy Gerard needs to distance herself from VV or it will kill her future endeavors. I won't listen to another VV book unless it's a text book. Just sorry I can't give zero stars.
