About this listen
Screen Guild Players was the most glamorous charity program on the airwaves. The hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for the Motion Picture Relief Fund built and maintained the Motion Picture Country House, providing housing for former film stars who were suffering from health or financial problems. Eager to be seen contributing to the cause, Hollywood's best and brightest flocked to the program. At first, it was primarily a variety show, with its first broadcast featuring Jack Benny, Joan Crawford, and Judy Garland. Later, it became an anthology show extraordinaire.

Story
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Abridged...but still fun
This was fun to listen to at work. However, if you are looking for a full movie transcrpt, this is not it. Just the main plot points are covered

A Classic Condensed to 39 Minutes
STORY - (1948 Radio Show - Alfred Hitchcock) This is one of eight stories you will receive if you purchase Alfred Hitchcock's Radio Movie Collection. I haven't read Daphne du Maurier's classic Rebecca, but this is apparently the express version of the 14-hour book. In 29 minutes you will hear the story (performed wonderfully), plus some rather interesting cigarette commercials which are, of course, illegal today. I'm not a fan of old movies or radio shows, but I like Hitchcock and am enjoying these eight stories as breaks between other longer books.
PERFORMANCE - Wonderful multi-voice performance by famous professional actors and actresses, with old-timie music and sound effects.
OVERALL - (Precise rating 3.5) Recommended for all listeners, but mainly because of the awesome performance. If you like old movies and/or remember dramatized radio performances, you will enjoy this.
