About this listen
Awakening on an unknown island with nothing but his name, Jak quickly proved himself a warrior as he tore through the most immediate threats around. Giant wasps, corrupted wolves, violent cavemen...all fell before him.
Now comes something even more challenging. With his elf love Niri and magic healer Rylee at his side, Jak must begin the process of forming his own tribe.
The cave that he took is a good start, but he'll need more things: wood, rock, plants, and, most significantly of all, other exiles to help build his tribe up against the other threats this island has in store for him.

It was supposed to be a medical marvel. Instead, it triggered the apocalypse. Half of humanity mutated into mindless zombies. Half the survivors mutated into the inhumans: various new species of people with new appearances and abilities. Some grew scales, some grew fur, some could fly, some could survive only underwater. Decades passed, and from the ashes of the old world, a new patchwork civilization rose. Humans and inhumans lived in tentative peace, and the zombies turned out to be not much of a threat once a few generations of survivors had come and gone.

Two years ago, the end began. In 2036, a rapidly destabilizing climate culminated in a worldwide snowstorm that froze the entire planet. Billions are now dead due to starvation, disease, civil unrest, and the plummeting temperatures. What remains of humanity now live in small settlements or isolated makeshift villages, carving out miserable lives in this grim new reality. Some, like Chris Weston, choose to travel among the vast winter wastelands between the bastions of civilization. In the aftermath of the great collapse, Chris finds himself strangely suited for this new world.

Story
Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia. Fortunately, it was the right name to know. Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald.

Growing up, she was the girl down the street. Even then, I knew she was different. She was tough, rough, and had the strength to stop a speeding car with her bare hands. We were as thick as thieves, sharing every adventure. Then one day she revealed a secret. She wasn't from Earth. She was from a distant place called the Arcadia Multiverse. Her people lived under the rule of a god-like entity known as the System. That System had its gaze fixed on Earth. And it was only a matter of time before it came for us.

Yeah, it is one hell of a way to arrive. Unfortunately, I've got some work to do because my heroic actions just triggered the End of an Age. Have you ever felt like there was something inside of you pushing your actions? A dormant beast, so to speak. I know it sounds crazy. But, that’s the best way I could describe how I’ve felt for a long time. I thought it was normal, some animal part of the human brain that lingered from evolution. But, this is the story of how I learned I wasn’t exactly human, and there was a world underneath our own where all the things that go bump in the night live. And, that my beast was very real indeed.

Steve had experience when it came to waking up with hangovers. Being attacked by kobolds? Not so much. After rousing in the middle of a monster-filled forest, he was sure his life was over. That was until he was saved by a fire-wielding angel who was anything but human. Now Steve finds himself a temporary guest on a small run-down farm filled with monster girls who need his help. None more so than the canine beauty responsible for saving his skin.

I'd known my fair share of tragedy in the last year. Lost my family, abandoned by my friends... things were looking down. Imagine my surprise when I get ripped out of my own reality and forcibly enrolled in a magic school nestled between the seams of the multiverse. My new purpose? Defend all of creation against the Outer Gods and keep from dying at the hands of the Void Things. But there's something nefarious about my headmistress... something I don't trust. At least I'm not alone anymore.

5 stars.
So our little harem now is not just surviving, but kicking ass and thriving.
The MC seems to be one of the Gods' personal projects but doesn't know it.
The harem is now becoming a tribe of their own and I'm hoping they will take over the island and bring change to better the lives of all that live on this island.
I'm hoping in book 3 we will get to find out more about this elusive giant crow that keeps following the MC.
Lots of good sex and fighting. Definitely 5 stars!

I very much like this series. the story is simple with some mystery. characters are consistent with some depth. I am looking forward to the next book to see what direction the author takes us. the narrator did a fantastic job , thanks.

I recommend you given this series of shot.
When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the first book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. There are currently four books in the series with the first two having received the audio treatment and the other two being available in eBook form. They are part of the kindle unlimited program so if you have kindle unlimited you can read them for free. If you're like me, you can use Alexa to read it to you so that you can listen while doing other things. I don't want to spoil anything from this book so I'm actually going to put my review from the first book below so you can read that and see if you're interested in checking out the series.
Book 1 Review
A little bit of context for my review. I tend to take it easy on the first and last book of any series and limit the details on the story when it comes to trilogies. Not every story makes it to “The End,” Beginnings tend to be shaky endeavors as a rule, and trilogies in my opinion are short enough that I don't want to risk ruining the story in comparison to a series which you could write a paragraph about and not even scratch the surface. This author is new to me, and this is the first book that I've ever listened to or read from her. She appears to have approximately 4 completed series’ which you can get each series as an individual eBook. Having read the blurb on a few of them I'm definitely intrigued by what else she has to offer after having finished this audiobook. This does appear to be her first audiobook at least on audible.com. The audiobook is a solo narration, and the narrator is a person who I have heard her work before. I've never “seen” her do a bad job and her performance in this audio book was on point. Our hero wakes up on an island with his memory largely missing, a scarred body, in a sense that he's a fighter. He rescues our damsel in distress from an aggressive tribe member planning to do horrid things to her. As time progresses, they get close as they fight off evil men and nightmarish beasts including huge spiders. I enjoyed the story and look forward to what comes next. Well done all around.

This series caught me by surprise
I took a chance on book 1 and really liked it. I have seen Misty Vixen books for years but never tried one. I just didn't think they had any substance to them especially with how short they were. That was my very big mistake! There is a surprising amount of character development as well as a well plotted out story line. The book never gets bogged down with slog (how does she do that?). Then she chose Katana Jones for the narration. She does an excellent job on this audiobook and is quickly becoming one of my favorite female voice actors. This is a thoroughly enjoyable listen and worth the credit.

An enjoyable sequel
Raw II is just as good if not better than book 1. Misty Vixen continues to deliver with this second book in the series. I really enjoyed the characters and the setting and I can't wait to see how they continue expand and grow. As for the narration Katana Jones continues to do an excellent job giving each character a unique personality and helping to immerse the listener into the world. I am looking forward to the next book.
