About this listen

Evelynn often thought of dying and the empty abyss that awaited her. But after waking up as a ghost, she quickly realized that death was not the calming embrace she'd hoped for. Sentenced to 300 years in Purgatory, Evelynn must cope in this paranormal world of angels, demons, and dead people. Join her on her journey, and help her decide how to navigate her new "life" as a dead girl.

Bailed on the story. I wish there was a rating for foul language, sex, and violence for audiobooks like they rate movies.

Katrina Medina did a good job narrating.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

~Disclaimer: I received a free audiobook copy of this book and then purchased the kindle book to read along.~

I think the choose your own adventure thing is a cool idea, but I certainly wasn’t able to make it work with the audiobook copy. Asking me to skip ahead to “Minute thirteen six seconds” and then not giving me time to do so or figure out how to be that exact in the audible app was frustrating. So, I instead just let it play through without trying to control anything.

The premise is interesting, but it takes awhile to build up. Evelynn isn’t the most likeable protagonist, but she is in a stressful situation. If you enjoy pot, this book might appeal to more. I felt like the blunts and pot use were a bit too constant. I didn’t find that particular interest of Evelynn to be interesting and it dragged everytime it came up.

The narrator does a good job and although the echoy voice for the reaper didn’t really work for me it does show a sincere level of effort.
