About this listen
Mr Collins may be a conceited, pompous, narrow-minded, silly man, making him the object of considerable scorn for the Bennet sisters, but Charlotte knows to seize an opportunity when it presents itself. After a week in his irksome company, her friend, Elizabeth, can only see his irritating manner. Whereas Charlotte, after a matter of hours, has already estimated his value and weighed it against the mortification she will undoubtedly have to endure. The opportunity to become the wife of a well-connected clergyman does not come along every day, and in a prudential light, it is certainly a good match for her. Charlotte believes it to be a trade she is willing to accept.
If only she can secure his attention before he must return to Kent.
You’ve read Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice; now read it again from the perspective of Elizabeth Bennet’s friend, Charlotte Lucas, an intelligent young woman, prudent and sensible. Marriage and a comfortable home has always been her object - not love or romance. Charlotte's story is woven into the fabric of the original novel as we follow her eventful year as she makes many discoveries about herself, her husband, and married life as the wife of the vicar of Hunsford parish.
Will Charlotte discover practicality to be a strong enough basis for marriage … or is this a marriage doomed to failure?

Story
Tragedy strikes the Gardiner family and Elizabeth sacrifices her own prospects to help the family heal. She performs a heroic act while in London and then has to deal with the consequences for her and her family. Upon her return to Longhorn she attends the Assembly where Mr. Darcy very much does not act the gentleman. This is the story of a young woman overcoming all that is thrown at her, metaphorically. Caroline Bingley did not literally throw something at Elizabeth, however much she was tempted. This is variation on the classic story, with accurate historical details.

WHEN MR. FITZWILLIAM DARCY RETURNS to Hertfordshire a year after last seeing Elizabeth Bennet, he is surprised to find that she has taken up careering around the countryside in a brand new curricle. Even more surprising is the manner in which their verbal sparring turns to good humor, banter, and flirtation. So much so that her neighbors begin to wonder if their attachment is more than just friendly.

Story
What's the worst that can happen when a Regency lady commits a Propriety Violation? Might she suffer acute embarrassment, a tarnished reputation, a forced marriage, shunning of her family, or something even more dire? These consequences might be devastating, but could we countenance a more nefarious possibility?Elizabeth Bennet is enjoying a peaceful morning stroll in Ramsgate when the pleasant sound of the waves is interrupted by a scream. She impulsively reacts and finds her life altered forever. Caution: This story contains brief, non-graphic descriptions of violence, death, and war.

Story
Four of five daughters married! Disposing of so many daughters in marriage, with little more than their good looks and charms to recommend them, is a distinction only Mrs. Bennet can claim, which she does, frequently. Many in Meryton thought such a feat impossible, and consider the Bennets to have been very fortunate indeed when news from Mrs. Darcy, or Mrs. Bingley, or Mrs. Ashworth is generously circulated throughout the village. Their felicity in marriage is assured. Fortunately for those in Meryton and beyond, little has been heard from Mrs. Wickham these four years since, but that ...
