Bernhard Grzimek starb 1987 77-jährig während einer Tigerdressur im Zirkus. Seine Urne wurde an der Steinpyramide oberhalb des Ngorongoro-Kraters beigesetzt, an der schon sein Sohn Michael seine letzte Ruhestätte fand.
Theresia Singer schildert das Leben des abenteuerlichen Frankfurter Zoodirektors.
