About this listen
Tired of normal life? Bored of offices with nice scenery and no carcasses strewn around scorched by the killer sun?
Then join Bob and Billy, two relatively normal guys, whose lives have been irrevocably changed by an accidental push of a button.
"We haven't seen you since the explosion! We'd love to have you visit!"
And so start the adventures. What happens next is chronicled in Problem Cousin and Other Funny Stories, a new book by Alex Goodwin.
From chasing burning Christmas trees down steep mountains to ending world-wide banana shortages, Bob and Billy will take you on an adventure like never before. Together with the two wacky friends, you will:
- Find out why pickled pigs' feet are not nearly the delicacy you might expect,
- Discover the limitations of Personal Panic Places when it comes to fighting roaches,
- Realize that receiving a parachute from a flight attendant cannot be good news,
- And more!
Bob and Billy's mishaps and miracles will astonish any listener, and... as Billy always says, "TACOS!" Even if that didn't make any sense, still listen to this wacky collection of stories by Alex Goodwin today! It's sure to tickle your funny bone.

Story
Deep in the North American forests lurks an animal spirit known as the Grishla. The Grishla is so ancient it pre-dates the human race by several million years, and it is so powerful and reclusive only very insightful witches know of its existence. Five hundred years ago, the Dwanake tribe possessed such witches. Drunk on their own power and arrogance, these witches attempted to enslave the Grishla. Enraged, the creature began hunting and killing the Dwanake.

Story
*My name is Ellis DeAngelo.* I tend to get caught in the midst of trouble quite often. I'm an unlucky guy, but fortunate to have friends to help me out. These aren't the memoirs of a geisha you'll be hearing. And most definitely not some soul-searching discovery that depicts eating, praying, and loving. This is so much better...or worse, depending on your perspective.

Emily the Strange: 13 years old. Able to leap tall buildings, probably, if she felt like it. More likely to be napping with her four black cats; or cobbling together a particle accelerator out of lint, lentils, and safety pins; or rocking out on drums/ guitar/ saxophone/ zither; or painting a swirling feral sewer mural; or forcing someone to say "swirling feral sewer mural" 13 times fast.... and pointing and laughing.

Story
This may be the scariest summer of their lives. Worse than going to summer school or working a job that doesn't pay. Even worse than attending their parents' old sleep away camp. The foursome must face their phobias as students at the exclusive and elusive School of Fear. Run by former beauty queen, Mrs. Wellington, the school is unusual, to say the least. But terrifying would be a more accurate description.

Coke and Pepsi McDonald didn’t want to jump off a cliff. They didn't want to get hit by poisoned darts from blowguns either. And they certainly don't want to get locked in their burning school, thrown into a pit at the top of a sand dune, or drowned in a vat of liquefied Spam. But what are you supposed to do when you’re being chased across the country by your insane health teacher and two guys in bowler hats who are trying to kill you? One thing's for sure, it'll be a snap for Coke and Pep to write their essays on "How I Spent My Summer Vacation."

Story
Demetri's first literary foray features longer-form essays and conceptual pieces (such as Protagonists' Hospital, a melodrama about the clinic doctors who treat only the flesh wounds and minor head scratches of Hollywood action heroes), as well as his trademark charts, doodles, drawings, one-liners, and lists (i.e., the world views of optimists, pessimists and contortionists), Martin's material is varied, but his unique voice and brilliant mind will keep listeners in stitches from beginning to end.

Back when I started this project, I was thinking what the heck, writing a few short stories will keep me fresh, let me try things I might not try otherwise, act as a sketch book of my story ideas: the funny, the weird, the scary, the sappy, and sometimes all of that mashed up together.

Funny, unique, and creative
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook to all my friends. Even though we are adults, we all like to feel young at heart, and this book has what we need.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hard to pick a favorite. Bob and Billy are both great major characters. As far as minor characters, probably the Banana Witch. Very unusual!
Have you listened to any of Gary Roelofs’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Gary Roelofs is great. Excellent comedic timing, dramatic pauses, and a performance that makes this funny story even more entertaining.

Bob and Billy
Would you listen to Problem Cousin and Other Funny Stories again? Why?
As the parent of a teenager who loves to write, I'm constantly blown away by how amazing young writers can be. This one is no exception. With a wonderful grasp on the written word, author Alex Goodwin takes us through Billy and Bob's adventures.
I found myself laughing at the author break-ins, leaving us humorous thoughts, and making each story even more enjoyable.
