About this listen
"The author writes with authority gained through his personal experience. This book is an informative and easy-to-understand guide that covers the various responsibilities that may fall on the family, friends, or Executor of the deceased's will. It provides a comprehensive list of all the necessary and practical steps to take when making funeral arrangements and settling the affairs of a loved one who has passed away in the U.K. As the Executor of my father's estate in the U.S., I found the steps very similar. Additionally, the book includes valuable online resources to help facilitate this process. The author also devotes chapters to the various major religious funerals and one chapter to the secular funeral, providing readers with an understanding of what to expect. It's a very informative book."
I’m sorry you're in a position to need this book on “Practicalities Around Death and Bereavement”. Sadly this is a situation which comes to us all, sooner or later.
This is the second of a series of three books which are designed to give you everything you need following a bereavement.
The first book "Helping you through Loss and Bereavement", deals with your feelings and emotions, your sense of loss and possibly hopelessness following the death of someone close to you.
The emphasis of this book is on how to deal with the myriad responsibilities which face the family and friends of the deceased, especially if you are a named Executor of the Will.
The third book "Poems, Eulogies, and Affirmations for the Bereaved", gives advice on writing a eulogy, poems which can (in full or in part) be used during a Memorial Service, and Affirmations which can help you through the darkest times, giving you strength and the experience of not being alone in your grief.
Having spent several years as a volunteer and Supervisor with the bereavement service CRUSE, and counselled hundreds of clients, I feel well placed to offer advice on the subject of Bereavement, and the responsibilities and practicalities following the death of someone close.
My wish is that many people will be helped through the grieving and practical processes at a very sad and difficult time in their lives.
Kind Regards,
David Griffiths.
