Diggin' it!!
A refreshing execution of this story. Her descriptions were eloquent and poetic. Not just a laundry list description. Her references to other authors and books, was organic. And not a shameless plug of her other books. I felt compelled to pause and note her references.
I have about 50 minutes remaining. However, I had to stop and actually write a review.
Your name is definitely on my list.
Keep doing, what your doing.....

What a story!
I love listening to this book. Right away I feel in love with Esperanza and her story. I loved how through it all she stayed true to her self. Loved seeing all the women that gather around her to support her & seeing who her mentors ended up being. I want to say I hated Jesus- I can’t. Jesus reminded me so much of all of those guys who claim to “love you” & can’t even love themselves. I love how even dulce had a redemption moment. If you listen carefully you can hear about the pain of the sisters. Overall a great book and a great performance by the reader. I highly recommend this book!

Best book I’ve listened to in a long time
This is a good read for a woman. The characters are strong. Not just another gangster book where women get slapped around.
