About this listen
From the multi-award-winning short story writer come six compact and masterful short tales.
They can be listened to quickly and easily, but pack a definite emotional impact. Chris McClelland is known for winning the Florida Literary Arts Alliance Award for Short Fiction, as well as the most recent Bronze Award for Short Fiction given by the Veterans' Administration. The physician in question in this collection is a young woman forced to face the dilemma many did during the recent pandemic.
Though it is written as fiction, the story reflects in great detail the anguishing personal conflicts of conscious the medical people at the time were suffering. Other stories include a tale of a neo-colonialist businessman, a reluctant capitalist caught between his duties to his company and his desire to help preserve indigenous culture.
There are also, toward the end, two opposing insights into fraternity life. One is a celebration of fellowship and the sense of brotherhood that comes along with it. The other piece is a darker view of the institution, showing how a person's mind frame makes all the difference.

Suburb Voicing
Jonathan did a fantastic job narrating the stories. His voice is easy to listen to and he is extremely concise with his dictation. I have a hearing loss and his voice made it possible to understand the stories. Well done.

I like the narrator
The book was interesting. Some of the voices from the narrator were kinda fun to listen to. My favorite story was the one about the old guy who died. Some of them ended kind of abruptly, but they are short stories so it makes sense.

A sigh of relief...
Emotional, tender stories of everyday life. All revolving around the central theme of healing.. be it mental, spiritual, or psychological.
Touching.. moving.. poetic at times.. This is a pleasant, smooth listen.

THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE
The book was pretty short, but it was amazing. I wish the chapters would of had a longer gap of silence between them so it’s easier to tell it’s a new story. The narrator was pretty good, but the Mexican accent was interesting, to say the least.

a thought provoking collection
This collection is really short, I listened to the whole thing twice in less than 90 minutes, but the stories are thought provoking and make you ponder life and the human condition. The two middle stories, one dealing with a challenging friendship and the other a mysterious death were my favorites. A great collection of stories I highly recommend Physician Heal Thyself
