About this listen
Clean-living, wholesome, and with a constant smile plastered on her pretty face, Dee Jones is my antithesis.
She's also what I'm told I need to polish my somewhat tarnished image—apparently being papped getting friendly with a fellow holiday maker on a sun lounger after your ex does a kiss-and-tell with the media isn't exactly what Manchester Athletic deems great publicity for their bad boy midfielder.
A repair job is needed, and the club is hoping that the super shiny star player for the women's team can transfer some of her good-girl sunshine stardust on to me.
But Dee hates me and I'm the last thing she wants to deal with right now, because Miss Dee has problems of her own. Problems that could score her an own goal.
She's meant to be my penalty, but will she let me be her kiss instead?

Scoring off the pitch
I was so excited when I found out this series was coming. I love sports romance. This one is set in England so they’re playing football not soccer. Hopefully this is the first of many.
Rowan and Dee are fantastic in this enemies to lovers story. They’re quite opposites. Rowan has a reputation in dire need of some help. Dee is the consummate good girl. Always smiling and doing the right things. They sound like the perfect match.
Not only is Dee a goody, goody, but she’s her nephew’s caregiver. So why can’t Rowan stay away? These two are electric and competitive, and it plays out in all aspects of their lives. Everyone sees it but them. This one isn’t a slow, slow burn, but it’s is more of one than usual from this author. It fits the characters and feels right.
This is told in a first person, dual point view. I enjoyed the female narrator more than the male, but I eventually warmed up to him. Overall, it was well done.

What I imagined it to be!
I have been a huge Annie Dyer fan for years. All her books are auto-buys for me. To finally have one in audio? Amazing. It sounded like I wanted it to in my head- the characters sounded real and had feeling. Loved it!
P.s. can we please get the Callaghan Green series in audio? 😁
