About this listen

The stories in Paper Heart investigate contemporary romance from a wide range of angles, each centering around the timeless topics of love and heartbreak. Stories like "Sunday Morning at Jonseys' Diner" explore both familial and romantic love while stories like "Summer Fling" and "The Idea of the Mask" examine desire in the face of an inevitable end. Though the stories differ aesthetically, what is constant throughout the collection is a love that is fragile and characters who navigate life as thwarted dreamers and hopeless romantics, sufferers of their own paper hearts.

Unfortunately, Paper Heart: Love Stories is not marked so that you would know which story to read first so I listened to all the other short stories before I found this one and realized that this story has all 12 in one place. I wish I had known that to begin with but I still really enjoyed listening to all these love stories. Normally when a story is in a series there is a page that shows the listening order and if all of the stories are going to remain separated like they are now (6/15/2023), I hope a page is created for those like me who didn't realize you could listen to all of them at once.

This author does an amazing job of sucking the reader into all of his stories and making us feel connected to the characters and what the characters are experiencing. I really enjoyed this Audio book.
