About this listen
In this volume you will find advice on how to write a eulogy, with examples of eulogies for various family members; Parent, Grandparent, Wife, Husband, Partner, Child and Friend.
In addition you will find poems by highly respected authors, written for the deceased, and also about the bereaved person coping with grief and death, which can be used as part of a eulogy or reading during a memorial service
These poems are helpful in at least two ways; to immerse yourself in the experience of others who have suffered grief after a bereavement and also for you to use a special poem(s), or a fragment of them, during your Eulogy and possibly printed in the Order of Service booklet. They could also be used as an epitaph inscribed on the gravestone.
The third part gives Affirmations which you may find useful to repeat inwardly, or spoken out or written down. Such positive affirmations work through directing your attention, and therefore your thoughts, away from negativity and towards a more positive mindset. This does not mean that you should avoid negative thoughts and emotions but that you have more control over “a time and a place” for them.
I hope you will find this work to be a solace during your time of grieving.
Kind Regards,
David Griffiths.
