About this listen
Nightmares are usually kept to dark nights, and deep slumber, but that just isn't so anymore.
Rachel's inner evil—an actual monster within—is set free when she sleeps, and if Adrian wants any chance at figuring out the salvation of Europe, they first must contain the entity Rachel harbors. But you just can't put her down like a zombie. What if that sets the evil free?
But keeping her around, and muting that monster gives Evil a beacon to follow, and makes the annihilation of life with the massed hordes of the undead all the easier.
It's never simple, is it?
But saving a condemned world shouldn't be easy. Not if we want a second chance to do it all better.
Can Adrian stay sane, keep his friends safe, and trek across Germany to find more survivors, and maybe—just maybe—his lost brother Tommy?
Not if Evil has a say, and Evil is speaking up louder and louder with every mile they cross.

The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

Story
BANGKOK, MARCH 2018. The world looked on in horror as millions of innocent lives were snuffed out in a matter of hours. Countless men, women and children slaughtered without mercy, torn apart by a violent mob that attacked without reason, motive or warning. Tom Freeman witnessed the aftermath. He reported on the tragedy and looked into the eyes of the sole survivor, an old friend, and what he saw looking back sent him running home to the United States. Back to safety. Back to a place where the world made sense, and the putrid stink of the dead didn't haunt his nightmares.

For the first days, Erin Locke - Lockey to her friends - survives alone as society collapses in England with shocking speed. From zombie apocalypse to hard science fiction, urban fantasy to Lovecraftian gothic horror, Chris' writing surely offers you something to enjoy. New Worlds features several short stories; "The Mother in the Lake" (a Lovecraft-inspired tale told by a teenage girl about her family and their lake house), "Roots Grown Deep" (a dark fantasy story about a tree deep in the woods that hungers for far more than water and sun); and more.

Why did u change the narrator??
I love all your stuff Chris but I can't even get through the first few chapters with this guy. it's terrible. I'm gonna have to read it to know what happens. Please find someone else to narrate. I hate to give bad reviews but it's just awful. I'm sure the story is solid, it always is! I just won't know until I have time to sit down and read it. lol

Our evil dead just dropped some bombs
Man if you’re this far along in the series you know how crazy it can get. There is so much being brought to the light and then you’re getting teased with it. I just fished this and like a crack head i neeed the next one! Great installment Chris!

mixed but still trudging
I'm sure the author did address the narratorsituation before when it changed, but it was off putting. Enough that i just heard book 14 a third of the way when I first got it.
I did go back to hear it once I knew book 15 was on its way.
It did make the transition better and got me focused on the story and not the narrator

Do yourself a favor and get cozy this is the series to die for!
Chris, buddy you kill me with your cliff hangers but it leaves me unable to wait for the next book. If back to the future was real, the first things I would get would be these books and a sick halligan from the future.

Doing what he does best.
Another great entry into the Aud series, both with the diary entries and the stories. It has the right amount of humor, emotion, and tension in it to set the stage for the next part of the story.
It also showcases how the characters have grown throughout the story.

My favorite zombie series!
I can't get enough of AUD and the new narrator is fine by me. The story fills in a lot of the gaps from the last book. I really will be sad when this series comes to a end but i expect more great stories from Philbrook!

Hats to Put Down
Other than the change in Narrator, the story is gripping and always keeps coming back for more!
