About this listen
THE HILARIOUS AND HEARTWARMING SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER
Ant and Dec hold a special place in the hearts of TV viewers everywhere. This is their epic story, with never-before-seen photography and the very best tales from their 30 years in TV.
Ant: As the old Chinese proverb says, 'Good things come in pairs'.
Dec: And as another Chinese proverb says, 'If you've been in a double act with your best mate for thirty years, why not write a book about all your most memorable moments in three decades of showbusiness?'
Ant: Less catchy that one, isn't it?
Dec: But no less true. And after three decades together, we're writing that book. Covering everything from a pirate radio storyline in Byker Grove through to the biggest shows on telly, this is our story.
Ant: Thirty years, eh? Amazing.
Dec: Absolutely. Especially when you consider we are both still 27 years old.
From their modest beginnings in Byker Grove through to their "unique" time as pop stars and an award-laden TV career, the last three decades have flown by in the blink of an eye. They've also featured an incredible cast of supporting characters, including their first scriptwriter (an unknown comedian called David Walliams), Saturday night fun and games with countless Hollywood A-listers, and celebrities they torture - sorry, work with - every year in the jungle. Told through the lens of every TV show they've made, as well as everything they've learnt along the way, this is the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things.

But his success didn’t happen overnight. Elvis spent years navigating the wild world of radio as a DJ for hire, working (and partying) in markets around the country before taking over the morning shift at the legendary Z100 in 1996. Over the last 20 years, he has become one of New York City’s signature voices.

Gary Barlow is one of the most successful British musicians and songwriters of all time, but 15 years ago, as he himself admits, he hit rock bottom - he was out of shape, out of work, depressed. Food for him had become an addiction, a means not only of comfort but almost of self-medication as he grappled with the cruel twists of fate of musical stardom. In 2003, as he struggled with the disappointment of an underperforming solo career alongside the tireless media taunts; Gary turned to food.

Fun & Fantastic Memoir
I’m an American who lives in the States but I somehow always find British shows or personalities that I enjoy.
Meet Ant & Dec. being around the same age as this duo all of their history in their teens and 20’s, I get it!
“Watching” them grow up through this memoir as well as listen to their lives ups and downs anyone can relate to.
Not only are these two funny on the telly but they are funny together. You can relate to those best mate laughs and giggles. It was a great day when they met because they didn’t know it then but they made a lifelong career decision that day.
Listen to this. Enjoy Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly and become fans as well!!

The only way to read an Ant and Dec book
American here! I’ve been a huge fan of Ant and Dec for a while and when I heard they were releasing this book, I knew the only way to “read” it would be to listen to it. Their friendship and professional relationship is so apparent in their reading of the book, and it felt much more like being in on a chat with them. Loved hearing about their journey together and look forward to 30 more years to come.
