About this listen

Be careful of deals made with gods in the dark…

Bargaining with the gods is never a good idea, but desperate times call for desperate measures. With the fate of all the realms in the balance, Paesha Vox has moved beyond desperate. In an attempt to save a little girl that needs her, she strikes a deal with a god and steps into a dark new world where using magic gets you killed and not blending in draws unwanted attention. With a countdown hanging over her head, she doesn’t have time to waste, but she quickly learns that allies are everything in this strange world.

When she’s forced into a pretend marriage to avoid the dungeons, her new husband promises to help her, but trust isn’t something she gives easily. She can’t tell him about her past, and he refuses to tell her any of his. But his connections and knowledge are exactly what she needs to find the Lord of the Salt, the one promised to have the path that will take her home.

Except finding him is only the first of her tasks. Around every corner lurks another god trying to draw her into more deals and new dangers that could end her life before she has a chance to fix everything. Friendships are forged, but more enemies are made.

The gods are circling, the past is calling, and sometimes, going back to the beginning of the story is exactly what’s needed.

This is a standalone story in the Never Sky series. You can read it on its own, or you can start at the beginning with Till Death. If you choose to read out of order, there may be minor spoilers.

OBSESSED

I’m going to need 3–5 business days to recover from this one 🫠 WHAT A RIDE, Miranda!

Paired with the audiobook (DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS), narrated by Jacci Prior and Gabriel Michael, Nevermore is a hypnotic journey, intricately woven with lyrical writing that transports you to a rich, complex fantasy world.

Paesha’s journey is full of twists and turns, guaranteed to keep you glued to the pages as you try to piece together the puzzle with her. Desperate to return to Quill, Paesha reluctantly agrees to an arrangement that will keep her safe while she searches for a portal to Requiem. This arrangement, though, binds her to Thorne as his new, doting wife. While Paesha is determined to keep this role as wife in name alone, the slow-burn romance tension builds perfectly throughout the book. Dangerous meddling Gods and Goddesses play their games, deepening the mystery and adding challenges to Paesha’s journey, keeping you on edge and unsure of who’s friend or foe.

If you enjoy audiobooks, you won’t want to miss this one! Nevermore is one of the best romantasy audiobook duets I’ve ever listened to. Jacci Prior’s incredible range not only brings Paesha to life but also perfectly captures the found family around her. In moments of vulnerability, desperation, heartbreak, or joy, her performance is absolutely flawless, heightening every emotion.

Gabriel Michael’s portrayal of Thorne—balancing velvety roughness with quiet intensity—is masterful, while his playful take on Archie is just as captivating. His performance instantly draws you into the story, making every scene feel immersive.
But what truly sets this audiobook apart is the stunning musical score that enhances the already flawless duet performances. I highly, highly recommend it!

I loved every moment of Nevermore and can’t wait for Evermore to heal the slump the shock of that ending left me in.

Wow! This book is so moving and powerful. I saw so much of myself in the FMC and that ending?!?!?!? I need the next book ASAP. Another miranda lyn masterpiece complete with beautiful music, beautiful narration (DUET!), and words tha break you. Lyrical poetic prose at it's finest ♡ Standing Ovation!

Aahhhhh!!!

I’m so confused! LOL I LOVE the banter in this story. Thorn and Paesha crack me up with their banter and antics. The last part of the book threw curveball after curveball! My jaw kept dropping. And the after the epilogue… what the actual F was that?! When is book 3??? The audio was superb. They did such a good job.

Slow start but mind blowing ending!

This one had a slower start to engage than till death for me but when it picked up it was amazing and the ending…..wow!! Great voice acting and range especially with the male narrator and with the accents!

worth reading multiple times

I originally read this book when I was lucky enough to get an eARC last month and I ate it up and read it all in a day and a half but the audiobook just came out and the narrators are SO good and the book is SO good so reading it again was an easy choice. It was even better the second time around, the foreshadowing was brilliant. The ending is just so shocking, I understand why this story is spread between two books, it really needed to be but it feels like torture waiting for book two. everything Miranda Lyn writes sticks with me, but Paeshas story especially.
