About this listen
Welcome to Chapelwick, a leafy English town in the hills of Shropshire, where chocolate pecan cookies come with a helping of sabotage.
Maplemead Castle is crawling with ghosts, and the new owners need them gone. When Melody Bittersweet and the Girls' Ghostbusting Agency arrive on scene, they quickly identify the troublemakers swinging from the chandeliers...literally.
A century ago, stunning trapeze artist Britannia Lovell plunged to her death, and has done every night since. But did she really just fall, or was there something more to her demise?
Forced to work with Leo Dark, her scoundrel ex, and infuriating, irresistible reporter Fletcher Gunn, Melody's investigative powers are under strain (i.e. lost in a pink mist of lust and confusion). She needs her team on top form, but best friend Marina's cake pipeline goes AWOL, assistant Artie's distracted by a giant sausage roll, and the pug is scared witless by a lion.
Somewhere, hidden in the castle, is a heart-breaking secret, but what will it take to find it? And is there a chance it could set Britannia free, or is she doomed to repeat her last fateful act forever?
Contains mature themes.

The Author’s wit and originality really brought the characters to life. I also loved the narration.
Fletch and Melody’s love, hate relationship was so steamy; it left me wanting more. I wish there were more to this series.

Even better than the first
It's rare to enjoy the second in a series more than the first, but that was the case here. We have already fallen in love with characters by this book, which made the relationship building all the more effective. Now, if the spotlight couple do not get together, I might just be heartbroken. I'll probably download the next in the series by tomorrow.

DISAPPOINTED
That entire last scene with Leo and Britannia was the perfect opportunity for Fletcher to have walked in on.
I hope in future that occurs.
My main problem is, everything in these books happens as though every character is wearing skates for the first time and conversations are all rushed in the few seconds as they pass each other.
What was the point in staying overnight if there was no true dialogue between Melody and the ghosts? Fletcher was supposed to shadow her and also sleep in the castle? Did we forget?
This series has a good premise that needs major tweaking.

Big Change from First Book in Series
I thoroughly enjoyed Book 1 in this series; lighthearted and fun. This one was a disappointment though. Story is okay, but the writing borders on obscene. I don't mind some reference to sex, but this book quickly filled with nothing but lewd phrases, and sexual language. These added nothing to the story, just filler to make the word count.

Cheap romance novel
After about 2 hours in it changes from ghost story to cheap romance . All the author describes is, how an older lady who doesn’t “get” it anymore feels when she starts kissing again.
