About this listen

Imagine a truck full of dreams and oddities. A truck that changes to a never ending carnival once you step inside. The man who drives this truck will offer up dreams and collect down the road. Is the price too steep or to damning? Three young boys chase this truck across the streets of Hannibal, Missouri and find dreams of their own inside the dark trailer. Years later they will come back together again to fight off Mr. Mayflower and his truck for a battle that ends up in a hidden graveyard!

This was a very entertaining story with just the right amount of humor and suspense. The narrator was excellent and made the story come alive! The author and the narrator draw you in to this fascinating tale with just enough spooky paranormal happenings to keep you on the edge of your seat. Enjoyed this book from beginning to end.

Great storyteller

A little bit “Stranger Things” and a little bit Stephen King. I really enjoyed this book because I grew up very near where the story takes place and could envision the environment. I especially appreciated the narrator, Paul Waldrop. He really made the characters come alive.
However, I wish the author had developed the personalities of the characters a little more. For example, it might have been interesting to hear part of the story told from Rodney Yates voice. Also, it grated on my nerves when the author kept referring to his wife as “The Wife” !

Suspenseful

A story reminiscent of Stephen King. Paul Waldrop, the narrator, gracefully walks you thru the book with perfect pace and great character enactment. Nothing was overdone or distracting from the story. Pull up a chair and take a journey along with Paul as he tells the story of Mr. Mayflower!

Good Story. Great Narration

Interesting story. I normally do not read horror stories but was encouraged by a friend to listen to this one. I think of it more as a mystery, suspense genre. It definitely held my attention. I loved the narrator, he really brought out the nuances of the story. He has a terrific voice.
