About this listen

This novel is a raw and vulnerable narrative of one's journey to become a mother. The author explores the peaks and valleys in building her family through adoption and biology. Each chapter provides insight into topics such as adoption, race, love, parenthood, spirituality, sisterhood, and loss. The overarching theme of resilience and perseverance amongst hardship, leaves the reader with hope that miracles are not only possible, but real.

A great personal glimpse into the inner workings of adoption. An intimate glance into the ups and downs of emotions. Parenting isn't easy no matter how it got its start. Childhood isn't easy either no matter how you wound up with your parents. I look forward to more glimpses once they hit their early 20s. Thanks for sharing.

Mixed Up with Me took me on a full journey of not only adoption but, true family dynamics with all the good and bads, highs and lows. The author allowed for you to sit in the moments with her and feel your own emotions while she held hers. It was a great read and I would recommend for anyone that wants to see a POV on adoption or someone starting their family journey.
